American Axle strike....

AA isnt asking for a Delphi, Dana like contract. It wants all of its emplyee's to take a 50% pay cut, immediately. Whether you love, hate, or tolerate the UAW, none of you can tell me that you would accept your boss insisting on a 50% paycut, no matter what the job.

You can thank the UAW. Lazy, good for nothin mooches.

 I cannot agree more

This is what I'm talking about with the Union bashing. It's completely unnecessary in this thread and is off topic. If you don't have anything useful to contribute, stay out of the thread. This is the type of shit I'm talking about. Chances are that you guys are uneducated and just believe what the media and other shmucks want you to believe, because they are uneducated as well.

You are absolutely correct. Dick Dauch has worked his ass off for this company and is not the type of person to take any BS. He is a firm believer in the fact that the dog wags the tail not the other way around.

I'm sorry, but the truth of the matter is that if some asshole is gonna just come in one day and say 'Your wage is getting cut in half or more, while I'm increasing mine like all hell!!!!!!!!!' you can kiss my hairy, smelly, pimply ass. These people are standing up for what's right. It's not greed....it's preserving a way of life.

You must have missed my post:

How is it off topic? This thread is about a strike, and the people striking. And what's the name of thier union? The POOAW. :flipa:

Are you going to go tell your union rep on me for picking in the union?

1st off this isn't your thread so kindly STFU. If person that started the thread asked for them to stop then HE could say something. He hasn't, sooooo again kindly STFU.

As for being uneducated you are wrong. Just because you are a UAW worker doesn't make you more educated. My bet is you are less educated then most of the people that posted.

Preserving a way of life that was handed to them by the UAW!

I'm glad I will NEVER own a company that is forced to pay it's workers what a corupt labor board feels is right. My company will pay a fair wage for a days work. My hard work will create and maintain a company. There will always be someone to replace you in this world.

Justin, don't be an idiot. If you want to discuss it intelligently, feel free. If you are going to make assclown posts, it makes you look like one.

Look, this thread is not a pissing match. I'm not putting myself on a pedestal and quit copying my posts. It just makes you guys look like morons coming in here saying fuck the union when it wasn't even a thread about reasons for the strike anyhow. The subject of the thread is what plants are affected by the strike, not omgzzzz the UAW is on strike, we know that already. You guys need to stop twisting shit as you see fit.

Coming in here and bashing people unnecessarily is what it is...unnecessary. If you guys want to be intelligent about it, by all means I invite you. If you want to be an idiot, stay out. I don't care if you are a mod or admin or whatever. Idiocy and ignorance is one the same.

FYI I don't dislike the UAW, I dislike the UAW reps that are corupt. They are selling out their Union "brothers and sister" for their own gain. No different than a corupt CEO IMO.

Me making assclown posts? You're the one that said I was off topic. :flipa: This thread is about unions, and the guy not getting his truck because AA is on strike.

I have ZERO sympathy for the union. ZERO.

I've been to plenty of big 3 plants. I've seen exactly what goes on. Worthless, lazy, good for nothing, company moochin pieces of SHIT sit there and collect money because they are on some restriction. While someone like YOU has to bust thier ass to make up for them.

Yes, union workers make FAAAAAAAR too much money. Really? like $18 bucks a hours to bolt parts on a car? Give me a break. That's a $8/hour job at best.

The unions are going to come crashing down, they're already starting to with the AA situation. I for one am loving it. There was a day in this country where unions were needed. But not anymore.

Working for an at will employer is FTW. Bust your ass, do good work, go to college, and you get a head.

I never said I would accept a 50% pay cut.
I only predicted where this will end up.

If I was ever in that situation, I'd simply leave and go work somewhere else :)

I wouldn't stomp around like a child and demand more money whether or not the company could afford it!

I'm not saying that they aren't infallible. To tell you the truth, I don't really trust anybody in a position of power anymore. However, I do have a right to stick up for my rank-and-file brothers and sisters who are having a life, kids, mortgage, etc. The vast majority of people are not lazy pigs, like the picture guys paint.

I work with a bunch of good, honest, hardworking people. Also, just because you work in the shop does not mean you are living the high life, driving Escalades, flashing money around like a lot of idiots think. I know several people just getting by, and to tell you the truth, I am one of those people just getting by.

Justin, what I'm saying is that don't come in here and make dumb comments like 'screw them dumb, lazy mooches' because that is dumb and a verrrrrrry broad comment.

I did provide useful Info on the Hamtramik plant.

No one is "UNION BASHING", All I'm saying is that the UNION heads are becoming more of a problem. THe leaders. I also blame the Corporate Heads. The American Auto Market is "CRASH"ing, simply because everyone is getting tooo Greedy. Everyone has to have more overhead. And when the Unions don't get what they want, the corporations sell out the US. NAFTA is a huge casue of this as well.
our country is turning to shit, and it's starting right here in D-town. We have to make a difference.

"The truth cannot be delivered with novocaine" -Ann Coulter.

Would you like to argue the facts then?

Lets start with this one:

UAW’s Multimillion Dollar Resort

Union dues have subsidized the construction of an extraordinarily expensive resort and golf club retreat. The Black Lake Resort and Golf club is luxurious, to say the least. This lakeside resort has 241 guest rooms, 2 full-sized basketball courts, an Olympic size swimming pool, a full gym and exercise room with a sauna, and a golf course designed by Rees Jones, a pricey and well-known golf course architect.

While UAW union members are permitted to visit the resort their dues have paid for, they cannot do so at any significant discount—they only receive $18 off the regular price.

Why would you guys have to pay to visit something your union dues paid for?!

Listen, I just pointed out that I don't trust anybody in a position of power. The biggest point I am trying to make is its asinine to blame this on the rank-and-file workers. The workers, you know the people that actually work, we stick together. I and the people I work with come in, work hard, and go home. Is that bad?

The rank and file workers need to open their eyes and look at the big picture. The rank and file workers are part of the problem, they keep pushing the union leaders to be hard asses, and electing the ones that promise them the most, regardless of the consequences.

No, thats not bad. Honestly, I have not been to your plant yet. (Hopefully I won't have to. We supply the spoilers, rockers, hood bezels, ect for the hi-perf G6. If there is a quality issue, I'll be there.) If you guys don't have any one like that, then its a good thing.

I do blame the workers who milk the system. There are plenty of them. If there aren't any at your plant, then that is a rareity.

Thousands of UAW members are being paid between $70,000 to $85,000 per year not to work. (By some accounts, the expense is even larger, costing the “Big Three” up to $130,000 for each job banker). For 4,200 of these union members, their 8 hour “work day” consists of “filling out crossword puzzles, watching World War II movies and even taking naps.” These job bankers “have drawn nearly full pay and all benefits, often for years, no matter the companies’ health.” As shown by the $4.5 billion the “Big Three” earmarked to fund job banks, this practice is costing the companies billions of dollars at a time that they are losing billions.

And like Raj said, you guys put these d-bags in power.

I rest my case.
