Detroit can't compete when they export a billion times less than what is imported to this country. And don't give me the "honda and toyota's are made here BS" They still should tax the fuck out of them like they do to us.

Dude, people aren't concerned about UAW wages because they're jealous. They're concerned because they care about the economy that we all live in. These are the same people that only buy American cars and support the local economy as much as possible. I think he was using that example to demonstrate how wages inside the UAW may be skewed from reality.

AA is not going to do that, but next time they are up for bid Dana will, and AA will lose the business. Does that make the slightest sense to you? Because that is the heart of AA's position.

The UAW has let the average wage fall, and they have lost their bargaining position. Try blaming Gettlefinger instead of Honda, Toyota, the government, and the people on this board.

I have adult ADD and a form of dyslexia so bad I can't tell the different between a "b" and a "d" when I am writing. It hasn't stopped me from getting a Master's and working my ass off to hold down a great job without a union to keep me working.

Isnt this what an educated consumer does when making a purchase? Why would you expect a business to operate any differently when hiring an employee?

Good for the leaders at American Axle. If the current workers don't like their job or what they are getting paid / benefits, then I am sure the huge line of people that are unemployed and are in desperate need of a job will gladly fill their greedy ass spots.
