American Axle strike....

I had an easy solution to all the downsizing of the auto industry, but the union didn't like it.

Random Drug and alcohol testing.

I can honestly sit here and type that I would have 0 trouble passing either.

There are plenty on here that know me and know that is a true statement too!

That would weed out a lot of the trash!

I think you are OK because they are built in Silao. AA has a plant in Mexico that builds the exact same parts as they do here.

Thanks... we now return to your regularly scheduled programming, Unions: good, bad or down right evil?:notwork::beer:

To be quite honest with you, I consider this job a blessing. I don't put myself on a pedestal above others, I don't go buying Escalades and flashing money around. I'm just an honest guy trying to make a living, and feeling blessed that for once in my life after all of the shit I have been through in the past, I can finally do things that I have always been wanting to do. I feel lucky to have this kind of job in this crummy ass state, and have a strong work ethic, and that is what drives me.

I just want to wake up each day, go to work, and come home and move on with my life. It's not like I'm going to pass up the opportunity for a $20+/hr job, you would have to be out of your mind. If someone at work wants to sit around all day and not do shit, that's their perogative, but not me. I take immense pride in my work and it pisses a lot of other people off because I get accused of being a 'suckass'. Oh well, I think it is worthless to debate any more on this subject so I am going to throw the towel in, here. I just wanted to get this out there. Thanks.

union or not, i feel the same way. i just recently started my first "real" job since college and love it. the days of penny pinching and watching everyone else have a good time are pretty much over. :_slide_:

well for now anyways, don't want to jinx a good thing .

o shit low blow. why not have robots do that then?

I've seen jobs that robots just can't do. A robot is all muscle, there's no finesse or working around and making sure something works when a robot is doing something. Just because it doesn't take any real skill to do a job doesn't mean a robot can just do it. A trained monkey maybe though?

Where can I sign up to be a scab in the mean time since the union jack offs dont care enough. i will do it on a temp basis till they pull their head out of their ass!

I would also love it if one hit me as I crossed the picket line so then I could sue them! and take money I dont deserve so I can know what its like to be a UAW member!
