Should probably trade this guy, right? Maybe for a draft pick or something

I'll buy into the Lions being anything more than a team that's just getting lucky when they do something legitimate in the playoffs. As for Stafford. Look at the stats of the Lions for effiency in the red zone. They were better last year.

https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/red-zone-scoring-pct

Individual QB ratings (Stafford ranks 7th in the league in rating.

https://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/quarterback-rating-in-red-zone/2016/

Advanced Metrics show the Lions as being toward the bottom of the league in overall efficency.

To be honest, I feel like I'm watching 2015 MSU. Everyone knew they were bad, but they somehow managed to win, then when it came time to actually play, they got smashed in the face and their team has been broken ever since.

The real hero of the lions... puts up more points then that guy ^^^^^^^

Did you miss the part that said "Best in the NFL?" Because, it says that. Like, there isn't one QB in the entire league that has been better than him in the red zone. Not one.

And, who is it that gets Prater into range to make those kicks? Or is he kicking them from his own end zone?

I mean, you guys have to realize how ridiculous you look at this point, right? It's not just me. It's NFL analysts on TV, column writers, coaches, etc all describing Stafford as somewhere between the best QB in the NFL to at least a legit MVP candidate. His statistics put him in the elite category, the team is winning....

...and you guys continue to suggest that he's somewhere between shit and mediocre. Just man up and admit you were wrong, there would be more dignity in it

8 fucked up years Stufford gave us, made us the laughing stock of the NFL (and late nite comedy) and now the field goal kicker is winning these games for Detroit Lidowns and i gotta fondle Stufford balls like you do? fuck that!
I'd hold cotton pillows (not really) under Bradys balls WAY B4 Stuffors ANY DAY

In those previous 8 years... Stafford had the worse coaching... The worse GM... And the worse offense coordinator... Now that he has decent coaching... One hell of a GM... And a decent offense coordinator... He's still shit?!? :shake:

to be fair, he's tied with 2 others. So he's really only 5 spots back.

I've been one of Staffords biggest detractors, but you have to give credit where credit is due. He's been playing great and the Lions defense played one of their best game of the season against an elite offense. They're firing on all cylinders.

Now the NFC is a dumpster fire. It really is, it's historically one of the worse NFC's we've ever seen. The Cowboys and the Seahawks are the only two teams that can win consistently. Do the Lions have a chance at making a run in the playoffs? Sure. Anything can happen. Is it likely? I don't think so. Check back with me after the Giants and Cowboys games to see if my opinion has changed, but I doubt it will.

You're not good at that reading thing, are you?

The picture and caption that I posted clearly stated best since 2015. So over the pst two years. Your link is 2016 only. Additionally, your link is team QBR, not individual. Additionally, that link has the Lions ranked 5th. Which means there are four teams ahead of them, not six. Not good at numbers either?

DetroitStyle is the BODUKE of Lions discussions

Hey, I'm just the guy who has consistently said that Stafford is a very good QB while the rest of this forum (DBK, Reiko and RoadRage excluded) called him somewhere between dogshit and mediocre. Now the rest of the football world, from analysts, to coaches to writers are calling him an MVP contender and you mouth breathers still aren't man enough to say "OK, maybe I was wrong." The only die hard anti-Stafford person who has at least acknowledged how well Stafford is playing is Justin.

1 season out of 8 he's finally doing something? (and its not all him) won't change my mind... give me consecutive "winning" season's then i could be swayed.

They are 26-18 since 2014 when Caldwell took over.

Again, keep in mind, the Lions defense has ranked an average of 19th out of 32 teams during Stafford's tenure with the team. Bottom 1/3 of the league defense his entire career other than 1 standout year when they cracked the top 10. That's right... Once in Stafford's career the Lions have had a Top 10 defense. Once.

Meh. you're not good at reading either as I pointed out the tie and how he was technically in 5th.

Arbitrary numbers are arbitrary. If you look at his redzone QB rating for his career how does it stack? (asking legitimately as I don't really care enough to do the average math on it and every other QB in the league). You mention that he's only had one legitimate defense in his tenure. What happened that year? They made the playoffs and promptly lost. That goes back to Justin's point that he can't win the big games (or at least hasn't shown an ability to do it consistently). I'm sure if I dug hard enough I could find examples of teams who have won despite worse defenses but again, not worth the effort for a single data point. He's better than last year but he's far from a top tier QB in the league. When he had the best receiver in league history he couldn't pull wins out either. The defense can only carry so much of the blame before it comes down to offensive performance and there's one player on the team who gets to touch the ball every offensive advancement down and that's the QB. If you can't get it in scoring range that falls squarely on the QB's ability to perform.

I think we all know what happened that year...

Yes, we all know the Lions somehow attract the most off the wall officiating calls ever. That still doesn't detract from the history there.

So true!
Now the 3-9 Bears are coming to town and prob gonna get slaughtered by the Lions.... (but did pretty good againts SF) so before people get on here and boast about "a record game!" its the 3-9 Bears! The football high school kids up the street should beat them
But if yhe Bears beat the Lions at home........I'm gonna have fun on this one
