St louis was such a good team this year oh wait
Yep just like you attempted earlier with that awesome qb
You getting Matthew and Kelly anything in particular for their new baby?
Oh thats a dallas helmet...thought it was a lions helmet
To be fair (and I'm sure Detroitstyle will gloss right over this), Stafford has played really well the last few games. That win Sunday him and Jim Bob put the team on their back and got it done with out a lot of help. He's played really well the past two games. His touchdown to interception ratio is off the charts. You have to give him credit where credit is due.
Now this is not to say that they're going to make the playoffs or even win a game. But if they can get their defense in working order and have any shred of consistency they might have a shot at a 9-6 season.
Damn good QB? I wouldn't go that far. He's mediocre and average at best. He's gonna get a wr killed out there because of his lack of ability and lack of ability to read a def. Oh and his up the middle behind the receiver throws....fuck Stafford.
1. He has never been more accurate (or thrown shorter)
Stafford currently ranks first in the NFL in adjusted completion rate at 80.1 percent — by far the highest rate of on-target passes of his career. (Note: New England’s Tom Brady would rank ahead of Stafford in this category had he played enough snaps to qualify.) It has extended to all facets of his game, as he has been very accurate on the rare deep shots he takes (more on that next) and also when under pressure of his opponent’s pass rush.
Bottom line
The Lions are far from a perfect team, in particular on the defensive side of the ball. The Redskins could give them a lot of trouble in Week 7, and we haven’t yet seen Stafford face an elite defense this season. But the improvements Stafford has made since Cooter took over coordinating the Detroit offense have been very impressive, and right now, Stafford deserves recognition as one of the very best QBs in football this season.
So how is it that Detroit is still 3-3 heading into this week's game against Washington? There is one reason more than any other: Matthew Stafford.
The eighth-year quarterback has produced at a high level almost all season, despite inconsistent protection, a flagging run game, and significant drop issues from his wideouts.
Stafford has compiled a QB rating of 106.0, which is third in the league. And he's completing 68.9 percent of his passes, which is second. That's impressive, considering all the issues around him, not to mention the loss of Calvin Johnson and the early season disappearance of Golden Tate.
And it's all the more impressive when considering he's also been victimized by more drops than any quarterback in the NFL.
Of course, Stafford is no stranger to big numbers. He's one of five men to throw for 5,000 yards in a season, and was the fastest ever to 20,000 yards. He will play in the 100th game of his career Sunday against Washington, and do so with more yards and completions than any quarterback in history at this point in his career.
The numbers have been there for a long time -- and his critics are quick to remind you of that. They say it's a lot of empty production for a perennial loser, and there was a time when that was true.
But this is different.
He's more efficient than ever, and making fewer mistakes. He has 14 touchdowns and just four interceptions this year, and two of those picks weren't even his fault. (On one, Eric Ebron had the ball swiped out of his hands by a defensive back. On another, Tate ran the wrong route.)
