2013 Tigers Thread

The Tigers covered themselves if they lose Peralta. Everything has a context. No one is saying what drugs are involved. If you or I go to the doctor with injuries, more times than not, they prescribe steroids to help you heal. I hit a tree with a snowmobile in '02 and was given steroids and vicodin.

Peralta has never failed a drug test. Was this stuff taken at the end of the season? Was it for healing injuries? What is the context? I have no problem with using a steroid in the off season to heal injuries.

I hope he gets the book thrown at him if it's true... I don't care what the excuse was... Professional athletes are role models to kids...

That right there is a problem, they shouldn't be!

X2!!!!!!!

Athletes are for our ENTERTAINMENT. They "can" be roll models, but just because you play a professional sport doesn't automatically make you a roll model. What they do OFF the field should be a reason to role model. For the record I'm all for steroids, HGH, and other PID's. I want home runs, touchdowns, 425yrd drives, etc. When I pay my hard earned money, I want to be entertained! :)

A lot of kids these days and even when you were growing up with Moses... Kids wanted to be like Babe Ruth... Cecil Fielder... Michael Jordan... They are looking up to professional athletes whether you think they should or should not...

Honestly I'm still surprised by how many people actually care if there are PED's used in sports.

I don't want them in sports. I don't want artificial records like Barry Bonds' records are. I still think the yearly home run record is 61*. I still consider Hank Aaron 755 to be the REAL home run record. But, even these suspensions are open to gamesmanship...

BIG 4 game series with the Indians starting tonight.

We should also find out today what will happen with Jhonny Peralta.

Peralta suspended 50 games. The Tigers have played 109 games, which means he will be eligible to play during the last three games in Miami before the playoffs begin.
