2013 Tigers Thread

Definitely a shameful loss tonight.... and we needed a bounce back win like that so bad. We really need to find a closer for this team ASAP because Valverde doesn't have it.

I would have loved to see Max finish that game, but he had 119 pitches so that's definitely too much to send him out for the 9th in my opinion.

What drives me nuts is usually after the first batter Valverde faces you can tell if he "has" it or not. Last night you knew right from the start it was going to be a disaster. Our one pitch pony isn't going to cut it for us, as Ssystemax302 stated we need a closer ASAP!

I'm hoping at some point Rondon can take over and they can get rid of Todd Jo...err, Valverde. The Tigers have lost 5 or 6 games they should have one. 2 or 3 of those is all Valverde. At 34-19 (vs 29-24), they'd have the best record in the AL.

Welcome back to the big leagues to Jeremy Bonderman. He's pitching for Seattle today against the Minnesota Twins.

It's not nice to complain about someone when they're down, but Avila laid down a bunt only 3 feet from home plate and the Os turned it into a double play killing a rally. Prince hit another homer and Porcello pitched well for 6 innings. Yesterday was a great slugfest, but today was disappointing. Joel

Yet another potential victory choked away in the last few innings. This team just can't seem to get a run when it counts late in games and our bullpen has been quite shaky as well lately. Valverde is probably one of the 3 worst closers in the league also.

Apparently one of the players involved in getting PED's from Biogenesis in Miami is Tigers SS Jhonny Peralta. MLB is wanting to suspend any player involved 100 games. If this happens after the trading deadline, it will really suck. The union will most likely fight the suspensions and hopefully this will wait until the offseason.

I heard 100 games only for players previously involved with PED's. That would be A Rod, Braun, Colon, and Melky Cabrera.

This "list of players" they keep talking about was made public in January, but now the owner is saying he will provide information etc... Would be very bad for us if Peralta got a suspension that carried into September and October.... Very bad.

If I was Verlander...or any starter...I would kick Valverde right in the balls after yesterday's antics.

I believe the stat I heard this morning was that he's now given up five home runs in the last six innings he's pitched.
