2013 College Football Megathread

Still, when we can't even get in the endzone twice in a game (on offense) against the likes of Western Michigan and USF, how do you think that's going to go for us once we get to B1G season?

But remember what happened last year? Our defense was great, but we leaned on them so hard that they eventually would get worn down by the end of the game, which was a big reason why we lost so many of the close ones. If our offense can't stay on the field long enough to give our defense a break, it will be the same story all over again.

MSU isn't a sinking ship. But the offense needs to get moving...

I will say I love your sig...but I'm wondering if she beat his ass afterward...?

If you think this, you will be disappointed. I follow college recruiting (not only UM) and I don’t see much hope on offense or defense other than Terry at QB. Once this group of seniors leave (defense), Sparty is pretty much done for the next few years. The talent gap and coaching is going to be too much to overcome. I’ll be you a steak dinner that Sparty won’t sniff another Big Ten title for another 5-10 years.

Which raises the question of how long will Dantonio last. I see a lot of grumbling from the faithful that he's the problem.

"Fans" were calling in to sports talk radio in Lansing and Grand Rapids today about how Dantonio can't get big name players to come to msu, they think they can do better and fire him. No way the msu football program can do better then Dantonio. I remember his first two years at msu, everybody wanted the DC fired. Now they want him as the head coach. Msu fans boing during the last two games, the fans will run Dantonio away and then it's back to same ol sparty. They might get to 7 wins with the easy schedule they have this year.

MSU needs to develop Cook. Defense will keep you in close games, but if injuries or excessive playing time start to mount, good luck. I don't think Dantonio deserves the blame, as they still seem to put a solid defense on the field every year. I am concerned that YSU might give them a challenge this weekend, as they've looked good in both games so far.

Dantonio's seat isn't even lukewarm. I think Maxwell should just stay in with Cook and O'Conner getting mop up duty. Something that was mentioned Saturday was play calling based on the confidence of the QB and the OC in the WR's. I'd like to see the first 25 or 30 plays scripted and then stick with it.

I think Coach D is fine...He just needs to find a better OC. If MSU's defense keeps up type of play, you can count Narduzzi gone at the end of season as well. Bigger and better things will be knocking on his door I would assume.

from Wikipedia

Robinson was hired by Michigan on January 20, 2009 as their defensive coordinator, replacing Scott Shafer.[8] In 2009, Michigan ranked 82nd of 120 teams in the Football Bowl Subdivision and 9th of 11 teams in the Big Ten in total defense. In 2010, the Wolverines ranked 110th of 120 teams in FBS and 11th of 11 teams in the Big Ten in total defense.

Texas is on the way up now!

So Michigan fans

Greg Robinson

Tell our Texas friend how those words make you feel. I'm pretty sure he won't be so thrilled about someone being canned and replaced by him.
