2013 College Football Megathread

National Signing day is 2 weeks away exactly. This last year was disappointing for pretty much everyone in the B1G. If recruiting was the defining factor in how the outcome of the season is, the B1G would be back to the big 2, little 10 or 12 or 14 or how many ever teams are in there once the dust settles, but it's not. Schedules this year look pretty weak all around for everyone.

Nebraska replaced OSU and Wisconsin with Illinois and Purdue for cross over games. On the road for Michigan and PSU though. And UCLA visits Lincoln this year. Right now I'd say UCLA, Michigan, and PSU are the only games I'm at all worried about. Although I guess northwestern did win in Lincoln in 2011.

MSU's schedule (plus my prediction)

8/31 vs. WMU (W)
9/7 vs. USF (W)
9/14 vs. Youngstown St. (W)
9/21 @ ND (L)
10/5 @ Iowa (W)
10/12 vs. Indiana (W)
10/19 vs. Purdue (W)
10/26 @ Illinois (W)
11/2 vs. UM (L)
11/16 @ Nebraska (L)
11/23 @ NW (L)
11/30 vs. MN (W)

So that makes my all-but-completely-uneducated prediction for MSU's regular season record 8-4.

Don't know you, but you're not bad for a Fartan lol

I'd say MSU has a chance in the games marked as losses there. I would consider that a worst case for them. That does look like a pretty easy schedule overall.

I agree, but I'd rather go on record saying we'll have a 8-4 season and have us do better than I would like saying we'll have a 10-2 record and we do worse haha

I was looking at schedules for some of the better Big 10 teams, I noticed Cal plays two teams from the Big 10. Seems kind of odd. Normally if you schedule two early out of conference games with teams from the same conference that conference is the Sun Belt or MAC. Is that what Cal thinks of the Big Ten?

Need to see and hear about Spring Practice and any improvement by the wide receivers. The defense will be strong as usual.

strong, yes, but I don't think we'll be able to lean on them to keep us in games as much as we did this year. I think it takes a small step backward this year.

Michigan needs a run game more than last year. Our secondary might as well save the energy and sit on the bench. That being said, I won't make a prediction till signing day and some practices to see who rises up. Personally I wouldn't be surprised if UM, OSU, and MSU all end the season 8-4.

Oh, and Bama for the Championship. Might as well just hand it to Saban again.

Today is the day to see if U of M gets the #1 running back by a lot of the scouting services. I sure hope Derrick Green goes Blue! I think he and Deveon Smith are game changers and will make Swifter and the rest of the Sparties sad for many years to come.

Even he will need a line. Hope you got more luck with your kicker...

You do realize that Michigan has the number 1 o line in recruiting right now? I am not worried about our line. We need a back to utilize the line.

How about a steak dinner wager that the Buckeyes finish better than 8-4? They don't call him the Urban Legend for nothing......
