So no one is going to scream that Hoke is going too easy on Stonum? Shouldn't he be kicked off the team?

Personally, I'd like to see him kicked off the team. But suspended for a year is better than D'Antonio and CL Rucker being back on the team THE DAY after his second conviction in less than a year and serving time in jail. D'Antonio DID make him sit out the first half of the game though. From prison jumpsuit to MSU uniform in less than 24 hours. That's the difference. MSU suspends a 2 time convicted criminal for half a game. Michigan suspends for the season.

To be fair though, it's not comparing apples to apples. After all, Stonum had 2 DUIs convictions. Rucker had a DUI and a violent assault conviction.

I'm with Mike on this. He should be kicked off the team, but the fact is that the punishment is obviously much harsher than MSU has instituted against their convict lineup, or than OSU has done in the term of their last coach.

here come the stones from the glass house....

You're right. Stonum getting a one year suspension is the same as your entire team violating rules while the coach turned his back and lied about it. It's completely relative.

It is when you're one of the 'star' receivers with probable hopes of getting drafted sooner than later. It's not like he's going to be getting any play time. It's before the season and the decision has the same affect as a suspension without hurting the college.

I wouldnt call a "star" reciever someone with 49 catches for 633 yards, maybe one of Michigans best, but not like he was gonna be a first or second rounder.

It doesnt hurt michigan, face it this year is a lost season 7-8 wins if lucky the following year michigan should be much better and a 5th year senior wont hurt

That may be, but tell me one college kid who has played already and started to come into his own that will willingly sit down for a year? I think he should be kicked off, but it's still better than what MSU has done, and OSU has no moral backbone, so there's no comparison there.

how is there no comparison he wasnt suspended, he isnt losing playing time hes being sat for a year he can practice, work out attend meetings as long as he doesnt compete (against outside competition) hes fine

Again, were you ever in college sports? Sitting out a year is one of the worst things you could do.

hes not sitting out, hes redshirted the only thing he cant do is play on the field against another team, lots and lots of players have missed a year , Ryan Mallett and Jevan Snead Missed a year they couldnt even be near the facilities and they are fine, If he really cares he will come back better than he ever was, If he really wanted to play he could transfer to a division 2 school and play but It might be too late for that
