You're missing the point. It's college football, it's not some off the wall sport. It's a punishment no matter how hard you want it not to be. Is it enough of one? No, but it's a punishment if you want it to be or not. Now if he's brought in at half time of the first game, then you'd have a point, but that won't/better not happen.

That may be, but tell me one college kid who has played already and started to come into his own that will willingly sit down for a year? I think he should be kicked off, but it's still better than what MSU has done, and OSU has no moral backbone, so there's no comparison there.

This moron loses nothing. Where else would he go? His stats are not good enough to draft for. If you suspend him for 2-4 games, that hurts. He has a limited schedule to play. It also effects the possibility of being drafted.

The fact is he's allowed to practice with the team. He's allowed to play a full senior season. HE LOST NOTHING! UM was going to be lucky to win 6 games, so how does his loss hurt the team? It doesn't.

As for Rucker, he couldn't be given that option. He was IN his senior season. He lost two games in the middle of the season. His punishment was worse. He was drafted in the 6th round by the Colts. Did it hurt his draft status? I doubt it.

By the way, because some people don't really know what happen at Rather Hall, 8 were convicted of nothing more than standing there. Rucker was one of the ones standing there. Those players paid the price. To say they didn't just shows (Mike's) stupidity.

"Stonum was charged with DUI Labor Day weekend of 2008, then was charged with the same offense in early May of this year. Additionally, it had been reported that, between May of 2009 and June of 2010, Stonum violated the terms of his probation multiple times for missing court dates and failing to submit to random alcohol testing after his first conviction."

so this is his second DUI and in 3 years and he violated probation multiple times

Swifster...you can't talk. MSU is full of criminals that continue to play! Stonum's red shirt is not any different than your TE stealing laptops and sitting the whole season. What you people fail to realize is that he has a chance to screw up again. Hoke is pretty much saying that if he can make it the entire year without messing up, he can play. We will see if he makes it the entire year....

Michael Flloyd Jr.? lol

Naw...2 MIPs and a DUI just got him out of the spring practice.

lucky for you guys, if he got the "harsh punishment" of a red shirt he would be unstopable, he was punished for the MIP's, the DUI was missing spring practice. Not that he wont this year, I predict 75 yards and a TD out of him against UM.

I would rather have had a 4 game suspension than a entire year out.

You guys just dont want to get it do you? Id rather miss a year, practice, lift, get better, and play another year, then just miss 4 games/weeks of eveything. HES GONNA MAKE THE YEAR UP!!!!!!!!! HES NOT LOOSING ANYTHING!!!!!

MSU is full of criminals? Which ones? Check Sims record if you want to go that route. he was convicted of a misdemeanor. And if he's 'clean' until next March, that conviction goes away. Some criminal. And the only player still on the team at Rather Hall is B.J. Cunningham. He was guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. How many convicts?

This joker was convited twice of DUI, and was guilty numerous times of probation violations. His reward? A redshirt. But it's OK because he went to UM. What a fucking joke. Let's hear more reasons why this is tough love... Hoke is a joke.

LoL...there is Winston that was let back on the team...Those 2 kids that got into a fight last winter in Colorado....I am sure I am missing about 11 more from the fight.

4 players, including Winston were kicked off the team over that. 4 more transfered on their own. 3, including Rucker, have graduated. And then there is B.J. Cunningham.

As for Linthecum and Bullough, one was convicted of misdemeanor 'harassment' and the other for underage drinking. Want to find out if Stonum's second DUI is a felony?

For those who might be wondering Dion Sims who was "suspended" for 2010 by MOOSU, was also reshirted AFTER his guilty plea. So while these MOOSU slappies would like you to believe he's missed games, that's just untrue cause it's an unknown until 2012-2013 or 2013-2014 seasons. And I'm sure there is going to be moaning from Swifster that he missed practice, meetings and a bowl game..there are pictures out there of him practicing and I saw him first hand walking in with the team for the Citrus bowl so there was contact between him and the team.

With Sims and Stonum there is no guarantee that they will receive 5th year scholarships yet. All we know is they were red shirted with the possibility of receiving a 5th year to play
