Do I need to go over the last 20 year record again? Obviously MSU fans aren't the brightest ones in the group.

yes michigan has done better than MSU the last 20 years but since Michigan stopped blocking them from coming into the big ten how many national championships has Mich won ( Michigan is the only team I know of that counts win losses and ignores the big prize)

Don't you guys know by now that swifster only uses whatever time frame supports his argument at the time? If this argument took place 5 years ago, he'd be the one going back to MSU's glory days and calling it relevant. But since the last few years have been hard for UM, he chooses to now make that the only time frame he will discuss.

Obsolete is UofM. I don't get all the hype with them anymore. They haven't been good in 10 years. They haven't been good in 20 years.

They won a National Championship in 1997
They were 11-2 in 2006
They won 10 games in 2002 and 2003
They won 9 games in 2007 and kicked the shit out of Tebow and FL on NYD.

Have they been elite in the past 10 years? No. And yes, they've been terrible the last 3. But to say that they haven't been GOOD for the past 20 is just nonsense.

no but how did nebraska cheat?
They were losing to Missouri with 6 seconds to play. Final TD pass should have been incomplete, but the intended receiver, laying flat on his back, with no hope of catching the ball, clearly kicked it back into the air and it was caught for a TD. Refs blew the call. They went on to win in OT.

The only reason Nebraska got half of the championship is because it was Osborne's final year there and the coaches gave him their vote.

Furthermore... look at the common games they played

Michigan vs. Colorado
27-3
Nebraska vs Colorado
27-24

Michigan vs Baylor
38-3
Nebraska vs Baylor
49-21

Michigan beat 7 ranked teams
Nebraska beat 4 ranked teams

Split National Championship my ass

And yet they have a trophy...

Having lived in St. Louis, I'm a casual Mizzou fan. I still have one of their hoodies somewhere. I was extremely pissed watching that unfold. But the refs were at fault, not Nebraska. It was an early season game if I remember correctly. Nebraska earned their Championship.

That would actually be UM fan. The last few years MSU has been a lot better than UM. If you want to dispute that, go stick your head back in the sand.

The 17 years prior, there is no doubt UM was better. Hell over the last 40 years UM has been better. I can admit that. But if you're going to talk history, then at least go back to when MSU joined the conference. MSU won 6 NC since MSU stopped being an independent and joined the Big Ten. UM has one. But let's be honest about all those wins over the last 40 years. Michigan was a choke artist. How many times was UM ranked #1 and couldn't finish the schedule? How many times was Michigan in the Top 5 and didn't win a championship (other than a Big Ten Championship)?

But don't try to snow people like Ryan and say the last year doesn't matter to the team that will take the field next month. It's the same players. And when Notre Dame buries Paperlace, who's going to be the UM QB. We all know UM's kicking game will be better than the last few years...because there is no way it can be any worse.

MSU's only real concern is the OL. The defense is solid. Yes, Greg Jones is gone, but the guys filling vacancies were playing last year. It's not like Michigan where they are praying for freshmen. Both have a better team than last year. MSU can have a better team and still finish 7-5 just because of the schedule. They could also be 9-3 or 10-2. But UM isn't going to beat OSU. UM isn't going to beat Nebraska. UM isn't going to beat MSU or Iowa. And personally I doubt they'll beat Notre Dame or SDSU.

I said 9-3 for MSU. I thought the three losses would be to OSU, Wisconsin and Nebraska. And all three of those games will depend on their QB play.

Michigan wide receiver Darryl Stonum will redshirt the 2011 season as part of his discipline for a drunken driving arrest in May, coach Brady Hoke announced Sunday. <!-- end inline 1 -->
Stonum, who ranked second on the team in receiving (49 catches for 633 yards) last season, pleaded guilty June 3 to operating while visibly impaired following a May 6 arrest. Hoke indefinitely suspended Stonum following the arrest but left the door open to a possible return for the season if Stonum met several conditions.
"While it would be great to have Darryl on the field this season, we feel it is in his best interest and the best interest of our program for him to redshirt," Hoke said in a prepared statement. "Darryl will continue to be an important part of our team and family. He has done everything we have asked him to do, but our number one priority is to help Darryl grow as a person."
Stonum, who received a one year suspended sentence and entered a court sobriety program, received another drunken driving charge early in his Michigan career and served three days in jail in 2010 for probation violations. He will have one year of eligibility remaining in 2012.
Hoke also announced that punter Will Hagerup is suspended the first four games and wide receiver Terrence Robinson is suspended for the first game for an unspecified violation of team rules. Hagerup also was suspended for a game in 2010.
"In order to build a championship-caliber culture, you have to be accountable to each other on and off the field," Hoke said. "There are expectations at the University of Michigan you must live up to."
Michigan opens preseason practice Monday. Adam Rittenberg covers Big Ten football for ESPN.com. He can be reached at [email protected].

It's gonna be Denard. They are going to put him as a receiver and he'll have 15 TD and 2000 yards in the first 3 games. Then he'll fumle 18 times in the next 2 games.
