Just curious; Have you watched the same team everyone else has or are you watching Michigan reruns from 10 years ago?

If you take into account a constant rate of improvement over a 4 year term as players mature and play consecutive years, then yes. I'm watching the same team. RR is coaching ok. Somethings I don't understand (see the qb switching today), but he's playing aggressive football and isn't afraid to make an example of a team. As much as people want to say he's a dirty coach, he is recruiting and treating players justly and correctly.

As much as people want to point fingers at people like me who thought we needed a new coach, it doesn't matter. After the last season Carr had, he had no choice but to come to the press conference, hat in hand, and say "I done fucked up, peace out, I'm outta here". Those same people say that RR has tarnished the Michigan name. Michigan tarnished the name when they attempted a half assed coaching search which turned into a PR nightmare. If there was ever a coach who had the deck stacked against him, it was him... and also Kiffin at USC. He had a half cocked recruitment pool, late job start, and a program ripped apart by a horrible season. Turmoil in the ranks from the coaching search, and everyone telling him he would fail because he wasn't Bo. The fact that we're 7-5 (assuming a playout that is expected) in our 3rd year is quite an accomplishment.

Next year assuming continued increase in performance, you'll see a D that's only half bad, not horrible like this year, but half bad. An offense that is tenured and clicking, and hopefully a new Defensive coordinator who can make a team play Defense (preferrably not Millen). I honestly believe that next year will end like this:

09/03/11 - vs Western Michigan - W
09/10/11 - vs Note Dame -W
09/17/11 - vs Eastern Michigan -W
09/24/11 - vs San Diego St. -W
10/01/11 - vs Minnesota - W
10/08/11 - at Northwestern -W
10/15/11 - at Michigan State -W
10/22/11 - Bye Week
10/29/11 - vs Purdue - W
11/05/11 - at Iowa - L
11/12/11 - at Illinois - W
11/19/11 - vs Nebraska - L
11/26/11 - vs Ohio State - L

9 - 3.

Obviously anything can happen between now and then, so they could be 11 - 0 or 0 - 11. I'd like to point out. Assuming we get to 8 - 4, that should shut up anyone who ever complained about RR as coach because of his record. In his last 10 years at Michigan, Carr has 8 seasons where he won a max of 9 games out of the season (excluding bowl games). Of those 8 games, 4 of them were 8 win seasons or worse.

good points above, but let's face it, at um, the bar is set at 10-2, or better. 9-3 may pacify some, but 8-4 won't come close. no different than at OSU... just my $.02 here.....

Yep and when Sparty when 6-6 last year...they said it was a good year for the football team lol.

No one said it was a good year. After a 9-4 season, expectations were higher. They finished 6-7 and it was a BAD year. Of course, they still had a better record than UM, and went to a Bowl. And while they have had a good year in 2010, the expectation was at least 9-3 this year. They should finish 11-1, but even if they drop the game against Penn St (and that would be a disappointment), this has been a good year. And don't count out the Pizza Bowl just yet. UM could still finish as low as 7th in the Big Ten. PIZZA! PIZZA!

Alright I'll put my real predictions in now

Sep 4 - Vs Conn - Home - Won
Sep 11 - Vs Notre Dame - Away - Win
Sep 18 - Vs Mass - Home - Win
Sep 25 - Vs Bowling Green - Home - Win
Oct 2 - Vs Indiana - Away - Win
Oct 9 - Vs MSU - Home - Lose
Oct 16 - Vs Iowa *HOMECOMING* - Home - Lose
Oct 30 - Vs PSU - Away - Lose
Nov 6 - Vs Illinois - Home - Win
Nov 13 - Vs Purdue - Away - Win
Nov 20 - Vs Wisconsin - Home - Lose
Nov 27 - Vs OSU - Away - Lose

I say 7-5

Still right on the mark with all my predictions. No way in hell will Michigan beat Wisconsin, they're healthy and rolling. We also know from this last weeks game that even if Michigan gets up on OSU, they will get rolling and still pulverize UM. Now a few points:

1. Stop with the QB's doing pooch punts. Put the punter in there, try to pin them back at their own 5. Our defense already is awful, let's not give the other team field position. I'm sick of seeing punts that net 15 yards. Fire Richrod.

2. QB by committee does not work, we learned this last year. Put Denard in there, and live and die by his decisions. The offense can't get into any kind of rhythm with this bullshit. Fire Richrod.

3. Swister is still a know nothing MSU doucher, and Ryan is still a dumbass for supporting RRod and the firing of coach Carr. Fire Richrod.

4. It's hilarious that MSU is ranked 12, even though they beat Wis. They won't be able to go to the Rose bowl unless Michigan pulls some serious upsets, which isn't going to happen. Fire Richrod.

Go Blue!

The QB doing a punt is a better option in some cases and it's working fine. it's not like the QB is doing a pooch punt from our own 10. If we're on the 40 and its 4 and 15, using our useless kicking team would give them the ball on the 20. Doing the pooch punt seems to do better.

I agree with the QB flipping. It hasn't shown any great advantage and I'm not sure the logic behind it. If you're oging to bench Drob for sucking ass, then bench him, don't give it 10 more chances to do it again. If Forcier goes in and sucks too, put your thrid string in to get some experience.

I'm not sure how many times I can say it, but Rrod wasn't my first pick. Carr being out was. So again, read what I said in my earlier post, or are you just so in love with Carr that the facts mean nothing?

First year is a write off due to the team being made of Lion's failouts and overrated recruits.

That's insulting to those players, Coach Carr, and Michigan football on a whole. Typical RRod lover, just blame Carr. Mike Martin, Darryl Stonum... how about Ryan Mallett? You sound liek this chick Ryan...

Exactly. All you wanted was change. Well you got it buddy, enjoy!

I am. Again, if we're 8-4, all the Carr lovers should stop talking and go back to their normal complacency. I personally want consistent 10-2 minimum without losing to teams like App State, unranked Notre Dame teams, and giving up the game because our coach was too chicken shit pussified to make a tough call.

By the way, MSU being ranked 12th just shows that under this system, it's better to lose early rather than late. It also shows how bad the BCS system really is. I'd still rather see a playoff.
