It's a weak schedule, though it is tougher than MSU's. Mike is right that they will lose one they should win and win one they should lose. I still think ND is gonna pound us. They aren't too happy after last year and nothing would give them more satisfaction than to crush our hopes early in the season.

Brad is right on. Nebraska dominated the 90s with guys like Frost and Frazier and Couch. It's not like the Big 12 wasn't a physical conference.

Injuries are part of the game. It could happen to anyone.

Well, for Frazier the Big 12 wasn't a conference at all :) But the Big 8 was as strong as ever when he was playing.

As far as injuries go. For Denard, something like happened to Stanzi Saturday where he plants and his knee doesn't like the plant or someone rolling up on his legs funny when tackling him from behind as he tries to juke that safety would be the real injury threat.

Who has a conference name that makes sense???

The Big 8 made sense. It was only 8 teams still in 1995. 1996 was the first year for the Big 12, with 12 teams and all.

2005,2006,2007,2008,2009..........big 10 champions......starting to seem like the big 1............

Enjoy it while you can - we all know being on top doesn't last forever ;)

Back to UofM: I agree that the ND game will say a lot about how the defense will hold up and if the offense can move the ball against a decent team - even if they don't pull out a win. The Big Ten opponents are what I'm most concerned about anyways. If they can't be competitive in the conference, then I'm not sure how things will hold when Nebraska comes to town

i am most assuredly enjoying this run.......i've endured stanford, usc, 'bama, in the 70's, cooper in the 80's and 90's............gotta say, the vest fits great......

and for the record.......i'm picking um to kick the shit out of nd saturday.....

With Nebraska in 'our' division, it's going to be brutal. Even Minnesota won't be a 'gimme' game. I could almost see most teams in the division being either 3-2 or 2-3, and that's before you play teams in the other division (and MSU gets OSU, Wisc. & Indiana). A 5-3 record could get a team to the championship game.

agreed.....there really no gimme's in the '10 anymore anyway. 'spose we could schedule the academy's like nd......but that's not our style.

too bad they can never finish with a bowl win :)

c'mon...1-2 in bcs championship games? most teams would kill to be in three, in what....7-8 years?...sure, it sucked to lose the other two, but damn, those were some quality opponents. playing in any bcs bowl is never easy.

Agreed and well said.

I know it does. I went to OSU for a year straight out of high school - stayed on North Campus (Barret House). Learned that there's a lot more hate to Michigan in Ohio than there is hate for OSU in Michigan. I think it's because we hate more schools: MSU, ND, etc. OSU only really hates UofM.

As for picking UofM versus ND - that's all good, but you really think they're going to beat ND that bad?

14+.......watch

i believe msu hates um more than ohio does. we went to see osu/msu at msu. they had all kinds of tee-shirts, etc., disparaging um all around the stadium. it was funny as hell. i believe i've still got the shirt i bought that day hanging in the basement......

Only half of the State of Michigan hates OSU. The other half hates Michigan... :)

While the State of Ohio only having one big school (Go Bobcats!), it's easier for theire whole state to hate UM.
