....you tell me you aren't scared RR might have gotten his system in place

I ain't scart...:)

I think he needs another recruiting class. I think most on here know RichRod will win sooner or later. ND & UM have numerous questions of telent on both sides of the ball, and both have a lot of freshmen and Sophmores in the starting lineup. And you're right, whoever loses will be thought of as "they're not that good", but at the same time, whoever starts out 2-0 will be over-hyped. The one thing in ND's favor is that Weis recruited well and Kelly runs a pro-style offense as well. No real change in philosophy.

As for the B10, there are two games that will get everyone off of RR's back...MSU & OSU. Going to a toilet bowl will pacify some, but really those have to be RR's target. MSU is no different. We're tired of getting blown out by PSU and OSU. And we still want to beat UM.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. That being said, I've said it since day one of the RR era....Year 3 the offense will be sick. The first game only solidified that. The fact that in his first start at qb(against a good team nonetheless) DRob looked like Pat White on acid gives Michigan fans something to hold on to.

Kelly can win with with anyone's players in anyone's system. He built a power at GVSU. He won with the previous coache's players and built/recruited a sustainable program at CMU. He won with Dantonio's pro style players at Cincy, then completely changed the offense when Pike went down and his kid Collaros came in and they still ran the table up until the BCS. I'm not gonna lie, I was a fan of RR. But Kelly is the man I wanted UM to get.

Neither of them are known for their defense though

My concern in order is this:

Injuries. I think there was more downtime due to players on both sides being hurt, but it seemed UM had more injuries. Granted they all walked off and as far as I know all returned, but it's unsettling to see so many players get hurt (and some many times).

Turnovers. For the love of God, do not give the ball to Odom's. Guy can't hold onto the ball to save his life. If we cut our turnovers in half from last year we'll win an extra 2 games just from doing that.

Overusing Denard. I understand, he's the best qb Michigan's had in a long time, or so he looks to be, but let's let things settle. Remember last year and the cries of "Forcier for Hysman?" Yea. I don't want to see a repeat of that. The kid can move and looks like he can pass, so he's an all around good player. I just don't want questionably weak team focusing on one player and in the end getting hurt. By halftime I was positive this would happen, but then play calling changed and things look promising.

You don't even know how to spell Heisman. Please see yourself to the door regarding any further college football discussions.

This coming from the guy who thinks Lloyd Carr is the best that Michigan should have right now. I'm guessing I'll be following you through the door.

against a hand-picked patsy......let's not all get in a conga line and hoist dick-rod on our shoulders just yet.......i realize osu beat up on a nobody too, but hell, we expected to win. i know it's been a while, but you um guys need to act like youi've been here before.

"Denard Robinson's going to make people look bad," Edsall told reporters after the game.

Indeed. The team Robinson took it to is a well-coached, physical squad that returned eight starters on D and had been picked by some as a BCS bowl team. This wasn't an FCS team or MAC or Sun Belt bottom-feeder.

Been there before? He destroyed the running yardage record for a Michigan QB, and if not for the last incomplete pass he would have broken the passing efficiency record too. That's having your cake and eating it too. I don't think he's gonna put up record breaking numbers every week, but you'd be fucking excited too if a kid came in putting up numbers that you'd never seen before. Michigan could be coming off an undefeated championship season and I'd still be stoked about the potential of this kid in this offense.

I'm still an outright Richrod fan. At the time I was more of a Les Miles fan, but I'm proud of the decision that UM made. It gives me hope that we can be back to a Woody and Bo type OSU game instead of a Carr/Cooper setup where it's just outright lopsided. I also haven't been this excited about the prospect of getting in the top 10 in rankings since the 97 season. I've said all along Rod gets 3 to 4 seasons to get his stuff together. Granted I hated what our past few years have been, but the reward of what is coming to me was worth the pain of it.

The game was explosive. A little too predictable at times in play calling, but the results and experience the team got are worth it. I look forward to this coming weekend and seeing what we can do against ND.

as i said, congrats on the win. i guess that's the difference in programs. we get excited about playing in bcs bowl games, national championship games, and the like. i guess all the hoopla over beating a team like uconn just goes to show how the programs fallen. we're playing miami, you're playing a has-been next week.......that oughta help michigans bcs ranking. lemme know when you guys beat somebody worth getting excited over. till then i'll wait for um's inevitable big ten meltdown.

What position do you play?

keyboard quarterback.........can't ya tell.......

ya know, i lived through cooper's 2-10-1 era. i took plenty of shit from all you um fans. it's your turn now for a big dose of humlity. enjoy. and when the shoes back on the other foot, i'll expect to take plenty of grief again. that's the beauty of the game. it'll outlive us. that said, i wish um a successful season. the stronger the big 10, the more credible all the teams become. if the buckeyes falter, go blue, go sparty.......that's my real feeling......

Once again, it's not just who Michigan beat. It's how they beat them. You can say UConn is a cream puff, but anyone who actually follows college football as a whole as opposed to their little corner of the country in Columbus would disagree. I'm not gonna lie, I was concerned about this game, and it was nice to see a decisive victory. I'm excited as hell about seeing RR's offense in high gear, because it means Big Blue could soon see the "big" games OSU fans have become accustomed to. And hopefully Michigan won't get their asses kicked every time they get into one of those big games...unlike the Buckeyes.

I'm just kidding. I don't like any college sports or their teams.

You do realize that OSU has a 50% win record in bowl games since 2001 (you didn't get into a bowl in 2000). One of the reasons I didn't like Carr was complacency with only winning the status quo. I'm guessing OSU and the gay vest club are a'ok with only doing a 50% on their tests... and doing the losing quite convincibly as well.

guess there's just no being civil to um fans. that's what makes our current streak against um even sweeter. great winners, poor losers.....whatever.....:shake:

i'm just fucking around here too........as a newb i always wanted to jump in these threads, but was afraid of the heat.....lol....

hell, i've got a pair of um shorts, and a um hat on right now. (maize and blue>scarlett and gray).......

Yeah, 'cuz Columbus is so inviting to Michigan fans

OSU fans are the biggest pricks in the world.

lol......i was thinking the same thing about you guys. back in 2-10-1 there was a um fan at work that had this little button that played the um fight song. the fucker played it every 5 minutes or so. hell, even today he's got miami's logo as his fb profile pic. (this week anyway)

as i said, all in fun here.....

his numbers are impressive until you realize that Michigan has never had an offense that was designed around a running QB/spread offense until RR.

i think the kid is going to get hurt before the 5th game of the season if they keep relying on him too much.

That's just it...that's all in fun. OSU fans can come to Ann Arbor and walk out alive. They'll get yelled at, sworn at, laughed at, ect...but that's where it ends.

You can't wear Maize and Blue into Columbus and expect not to get physically fucked with. They are the Raider fans of college football.
