ZO6 vs Ford GT?

Haha. It is all good. atleast it would be nice to get killed by another Vet. It is about time I get my ass kicked anyway because all this winning has been making me think this car is unbeatable..:laugh:

(Oh wait, I did get my ass handed to me once by a FAST red Saleen Mustang with a set of TT on it down at WW. I am sure you guys know who I am talking about)

The way a z06 is geared and the motor power it has makes it real fast from rolls. Now the dead stop is whole nother ball game, im sure you know that.

Ya, I do know that. But an 11.5 on the first and only run (which I believe you witnessed at Stanton) in a stock car on the runcraps isn't too shabby either.

I will start racing from a dig more often next season given that I will more than likely buy some rims/dr's. (Not definite, but a thought..:icon_mrgr. I am not a drag racer at all )

Sure you do, even though that motor was wasted..not the same motor anymore so your ties must be a little rusty.

Never said 11.5 was bad at all..thats fuckin awesome, im trying to convince Z0Sick to buy a z06 just because its a good car besides the half shafts..but we learned, Drag Radials destroy those cars, ET Streets dont. If you can run a 17 inch with a ET Street, do it because drag radials will destroy the half shafts..Z0Sick did it i think 4 times.

Sorry I don't follow the street scene too much anymore, cars are kinda boring to me these days lol. I'm glad to hear it's not the badass 427 that it was before, I"m sure you guys have only made it even better and can't wait to see it run. :icon_mrgr

Ya, I hear ya. Actually, if you were ever wondering why I only ran once at Stanton it is because the last time I went to the track (Milan), the car went 11.6 on my first pass and then the half shaft snapped right off the line on the 2nd pass. I was VERY hesitant to run at Stanton that day, but after that damn Blue C6 Z06 ran 13's TWICE, I had a few people giving me shit about that, haha, so, I had to represent..:icon_mrgr

I do feel if I can get just 5-6 more passes under my belt that I can get this car to run an 11.39-11.49 in stock trim. But like you said, I am so worried about the damn half shaft snapping on me again that it has kind of scared me to drag race it again.

Ranger went 11.2 on the street tires at sea level
He went 10.85 with just dr's, again, at sea level with a negative DA (-850)
Ranger is also one of the best drivers in the country.

Im not surprised about that half shaft..and the blue z06 i dont think had a clue what he was doing driving the damn car.

Thats the only flaw in the new z06, hard launches. There is no doubt in my mind the car with an ET Street would go bottom 11's but keeping it together is the key. Its not cheap to repair those shafts just for a a couple tenths of a second.

Agreed. It is not that I don't like drag racing (I say I am not much of a drag racer becaue I hardly do it, not because I dislike it), it's just that I don't have the right car to do it with.

I could get a set of C5 Z06 half shafts, but they aren't cheap and while I don't mind drag racing, I don't love it and that is why I would be hesitant to go out and spend $$ for something I don't enjoy THAT MUCH.

Just my take on it.
 
I broke 4 half shafts and 3 trans shafts and blew up my rear diff 2 times and my trans 1 time. Now my pockets and ass are in deep pain. I will be getting rid of the Z06 this summer and unsure what to get next.
