WTB: Lightning engine

I have a F150 engine...5.4 trition?? DOnt really know fords and I need it out of may garage...let me know if it will work for ya.

I'll check to see if the motor is the same internally.

How many miles?


BTW: I bought this truck 2 days ago. Drove to Cincinnati and back, and the engine went. The guy let the motor run dry. When I got it home, I check the oil and had to add 4 quarts after seeing the dipstick dry. By then the damage was already done and this morning, the engine let me know.

Yupp. So, someone help me out pleeeease! I love this truck, and make payments on it lol.

really dont know the milage. I think its a 2002? these engines had some issue with the timing chains??? LIke I said I really dont know fords. I was asking $200, I am in Detroit and will help get it to you (with in reason) since I see you are in a bind.

I'll let ya know man. Mileage is huge being I don't wanna buy an engine with a bunch of miles. It would also need to be compression tested..

i have a extra Lightning crank if you need it. things to remember. the Lightning and the navigators got the forged cranks. the regular f-150 didn't and the N/A 5.4 has a higher compression ratio. the heads are windor based and they are all the same. depending on how much boost you want to run will help you decide if you should use better rods and pistons. if you need help let me know i have swapped a few motors and rebuilt several 4r100 transmissions for fellow L owners including my own.

A guy I know that works at a ford dealership as a tech said he will pull my motor and put the fresh one in for $800.. can't beat that.

Yea I'm gonna keep whats good and build a nice shortblock up over time.
