Work Commute - Average speed

.....and a connection between m59 and 22 mile so commuters living north of 30 mile have alternative (without zig-zagging) instead of m53.......

That will likely never happen. The county would have to buy land from River Bend Park to put the road in between M-59 and 22 Mile.

Mound Road currently planned projects....

2017 - between M-59 and 18 Mile Road
2018 - between 16 Mile and 15 Mile
2019 - between 18 Mile and 17 Mile

Where? We just did a stretch between Telegraph and Southfield a couple years ago.

Anything east of 75... It's all fucked up... Soo many spots were they have steel slabs covering potholes and sinkholes...

God forbid........it's interesting how other developments (freeways, stadiums, etc) in major population areas (where people are actually displaced) seem to get completed. Yet, something like this (IMHO, that is long overdue) won't ever happen because of a park.........not arguing with you but simply making an observation.

They could build the added lane in the median instead of towards the shoulder. They would have to figure out how to divert water but I never see the median flood when it rains.

I'm 9.9 miles 15 minutes during the day less if I go in or home in the middle of the night because all the traffic lights are blinking
But... Driving a charter bus I usually get 400 miles added to it

I drive a dedicated run now 365 miles in 9 hours including a lunch break making 14 stops to pick people up and drop off 40.55 mph

heard mound rd is worse than a dirt road now, glad I don't travel that to work anymore

I avoid Mound, Schoenherr, Garfield, and 12 Mile east of Hoover. Saw some pretty nasty holes the last few weeks. Van Dyke is very nice though since they redid it a couple of years back.

I come up Mound from 9 mile to 12 mile every morning. It is so bad right now between 696 and 12 mile both ways that I think they just need to close it. Holes are so deep that cars are banging their front fascia on the ground - and you can't see the holes when it is raining! If I wasn't in my pickup I would go around - definitely taking Vandyke when I get the Camaro out next month.

It's nutty for sure. I'd keep the Camaro stored until April if I were you. They're going to be out patching the holes en masse, and people kick up the bits of patch and chip your paint up pretty good.

All I did was patch the I-75 service drive today. 8 hours, at least 12 tons of material, and crew of 3....we made it less than a mile. Our roads are FUCKED.
