Well the motor in my trans am developed an oil leak so i decided to pull the motor and replace the gaskets. I wish i could do more but funds are tight. Anyways project threads are cool so thought i would post one.

How the car ended the summer

Motor off the K member, headers off, and most accessories

K member and front suspension stripped down. Gonna paint and use some por 15 to stop the rust on spindles, control arms etc.

Small progress

Motor is stripped down as far as it needs to be for new gaskets, and sitting on the stand.

I am getting rid of the AC but would like to keep heat and defrost. I cut out the majority of the cover leaving a little lip left. I am gonna fab up a cover shortly.

And started painting some parts.

Did the front calipers and brackets with dupont caliper paint. Works for me, for the stock calipers.

Thanks, you dont have to. Many people have pulled them out the top. To me it is easier out the bottom. There really isnt much to it once you start digging in. I took apart alot of extras that you dont have too because i wanted to paint and relocate some stuff.

Not much progress lately, hopefully will get some time and finish the car up soon and get it back on the road.

Finished painting the engine bay. The last pic is just dust on the framerail from when i removed all the plastic from fenders and windshield etc.
