After hunting for years and finally finding buying and owning another 1984 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe to relive my youth for the past 5 years, its time for someone else to own it.
Silver, Gray cloth interior, 5 speed. Very good condition.

1984 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe 2.3L 5 speed 26k miles. Yes you read that right.
Very original car, no rust, ONLY things I know are not original: Paint, Battery, Gas Tank and Fuel Pump.
I put on a set of NOS Eagle GT tires and still have the original worn Eagle GT's that I took off. (Yes I found, NOS $$$ set thank you internet.)

Everything works, AC is intact but need recharged.

Anyone on Motown Interested??

What's the market for it? Where should I post it for sale and what should I realistically get for it?

Thanks for your help.

Its a full respray, good but not great. Atleast the silver hides a ton.
I know I overpaid for it but I was in a mad hunt.
Looking at cars, I haven't seen any 83-86 with low miles to compare.

TBH, have you tried asking turbotbird.com ??
My boss is HUGE into these cars, and he's been on there since the beginning.

It'll sell for whatever someone that wants it is willing to pay. Put it on ebay. You'll have a bigger audience and i'm sure you will get good $ for it. I'd wait until tax time too if you want to better your chances.. spring isn't far off and a lot of people have that tax return burning a hole in their pockets lol.

Why was it painted with only 26k on it? If I was a potential buyer I would find that very concerning.

back in the early 80's 85-90% of cars were manufactured with enamel, paint checking, cracking, pgment discoloration and clouding was very common after only 500 hours of UV exposure. Not that this is why but I'm willing to bet it had something to do with it, kinda like every Buick Grand national alive today

Wow, tons of tire kickers and weird questions from ebay'ers. Only a few bids but over 100 watchers, hard to sell a car you still really like.
Now I'm hoping it doesn't meet its reserve!

WTF do you know?

Don't take this the wrong way, but that looks like a well cared for 126,000 miles, not 26,000 miles. I suspect most eBay watchers feel the same way. The carpet, side bolster and shifter all look like they have seen better days.

x2, Drivers side seat bolster and engine compartment are my question marks. That engine compartment is hit for only 26K of road grime. The shift knob was clearly removed with some grip type pliers at some point. It surely wouldn't be a highlight in my photos. I'd also fix the valve cover leak.

What do the pedals look like?

Anything is possible, being a 30 year old car. I do have the original tires, I have no reason to doubt the mileage.

I've heard of people who have leased cars and messed with the OD. They bag the original tires and run up the miles on a cheap set. When it gets near turn in time you put the originals back on, run up some miles on them and turn it in.

Anythings possible, it could have 26k, 65K, 100K who knows. Not hard to cheat on the old cars.
