What should i do about my hillbilly neighbors ?

20 something year old neighbors moved in next door this year and I knew something was up due to the rebel flag front plates, the pirate flag that they fly on their front porch, the rebel flag he flys on his backyard shed, and the rebel flag sticker on his front door.

A month after he moves in , the two indoor cats he had are kicked outside because they start to spray inside his house. Now we feed the cats because they're starving.

2 months later they get a basset hound and on more than a dozen occasions they leave the dog outside without food and water for 48 hours at a time. I go over there sometimes to feed and water the dog because we feel bad for it. And the barking... Jesus that dog wouldn't shut up. His back porch is level to my bedroom window and the dog is about 25 feet from me.

I went over to talk about the barking and they eventually got rid of the dog.

This summer I'm sitting in the living room and the stench of garbage is filling my nose. I cant find anything. I look out my window and this assjack has his garbage cans leaning on my house, right under my window. For the next 3 days I take them and park them in his driveway. He still doesnt get the message. I go over and talk with him and he thought that the property line went along my wall.

When I go over and talk with him and I see that he has 2 new puppy's. Now that the dogs have got bigger, he goes to work and leaves them outside on the back porch. For some reason, he keeps trash on his back porch. These dogs also have no food and water so they are forced to eat the garbage. I had enough when I saw one of the puppys halfway thru the styrofoam of a DVD package.
I call animal control and now they have food, water, and shelter now but they still bark. From 6:30 am until midnight on most days. His girlfriend doesnt work, but the dogs still stay outside all day.

While I'm over there I also remind him of the tree in his yard that is growing towards my house and hitting the shingles on my roof. Last week i decided to trim the branches and toss them into his lawn. The TWO FOOT lawn that he has NEVER mowed . He proceeds to throw them back over to my side.

I go over to talk to him and he says he will trim his tree better. I go inside the house and I over hear them through the open window talking about the asshole next door (me). I go back and talk to him, this time a little more angry. I take him to the tree and show him that it is on his side . He calms down since i dont think he knew. Then his bitch banshee girlfriend comes out yelling "fuck this and fuck that". She starts crying saying I'm an asshole for costing them money. I ask how I cost them money and she says that animal control made them buy dog houses, new bowls, get them licenced, and get their shots updated, ect. I ask how that is my fault that the law makes you take care of their animals? She says it was my fault for calling animal control.

Now to yesterday... Yesterday morning it was a 6:00 am wakeup call. For me , my girlfriend, and our 5 kids. Awesome. The barking did not stop all day. I went over at midnight to talk. I said enough is enough, something has to be done about your dogs waking up my family every day. She starts screaming that i woke up their baby and slammed the door in my face.

Today, same thing . I called the cops and they said there is no noise ordnance. Or a garbage ordnance. Or stray cat ordnance . Or a two foot lawn ordnance . They came over and spoke to them but im ready for revenge. I want to open up some Brian vs Jelly revenge but im also super pissed right now.

Hes the question; what should my next step be ?

Do they own the house or rent? If they rent, it might be a good idea to talk to the landlord. Some (not all, unfortunately) landlords will care about a situation like this, because the cleanup costs when they move out will probably exceed the security deposit.
 
That's an awful situtation to be in. I would defintely think twice about retaliation, just for the sake of your family and personal property. I'd continue to report what you can. Calling animal control defintely hit a nerve, so there's hope. If not, I hate to say it, but you might want to consider moving. I'm hoping for your sake that they are renters and the landlord can take some responsibility for the situation and maybe even evict the low-lifes. Good luck to you!
 
I would payoff the cops to go in there shooting and then plant drugs later on, Because as someone on this board thinks (couch (R/T) cough) . all cops are corrupt.
 
my ghetto neighbors who shed litter in my yard and let thier dog out the front door to shit on my sidewalk doesnt seem quite as bad now
 
They have this thing called a "Bark Buster". My parents use it on my dog when they watch him because he always barks at their dog to get him to play. But a 6 year old 45lb dog doesn't wanna play with my 1-1/2 year old 70lb puppy.

Dude...when you hit that button...my dog just cowls and runs downstairs and he stops barking. Funny cause I don't hear a damn thing but you know how dogs can here 1,000,000,000 better than humans.

The rest of the problems I can't help you with but this bark buster thing works.
 
Robert Frost said " Good Fences make good neighbors." You will never win arguing with a neighbor, it will just be a fight over who can be the bigger asshole. Put up a privacy fence, and buy a huge fan that will blow the stink back at them.
 
Brian, if you didn't walk around without your shirt on all the time I wouldn't be forced to do these things. For the love of all that's sacred... We (the neighborhood) don't need to see your gut while you're out in the yard.

my favorite thing to do is go on craigslist, goto the men 4 men section, and post up an add as a hot young kid who wants to hook up with older men, then give them the neighbors address, sit back and watch all the wierd old dudes come creepin
 
His dad owns his home so no rent. I own my home so... i pay rent to the bank.

OK...yesterday i did two things...called the cops again. They gave them a visit. I also got in touch with the ordnance director and he is sending out a letter of compliance. If the multiple things spelled out are not addressed in ten days he will come out and write multiple tickets.

Today i called animal control about the dog with what appears to be a broken leg. They came out today as well.

My next step is to have the police issue a ticket for noise nuisance.

Than a craigslist ad... (thanks matt)

Next step is a cease and desist letter from brilliant and young lawyer . :)

Then a small claims lawsuit.

If all else fails, the last step would be a call to CPS. Im sure if the outside looks like that, the inside does as well.

A nice floodlight from lowes aimed directly at their window would really brighten things up too! :D Sound's like your on top of things. After they realize how much money being tools cost, I'm sure they will simmer down.
