Long story short, my dads stock GT 99 Mustang his car has been running like shit all summer, found a hairline crack in the intake too little too late. In the same week we found the cracked intake problem another problem came up, one thing led to another and his engine overheated and he has little to no compression in a few cylinders now.
With his engine being blown he's looking to find what his options are from here and where the best place to look for a new engine may be. He wants something with a little more guts, he always had but never knew the best way to go about it without breaking the bank too much and keeping his daily reasonable.
I told him now is his chance to swap a 32 valve into it, only thing is i don't know how reasonable that would be. Question 1 is where would you go about finding something to drop into it in a reasonable amount of time? Question 2, what kinda engines can you put into this generation of mustangs, if he had his own way i think he'd put a 5.0 in it or a 351 but i was weary the engine bay lacks the capacity. I don't want to assume or say much else about what to do since that usually leads to me saying something stupid to those who know what they're talking about.
So i just need some opinions and help from those of you who have worked with this generation of mustang before, whats the best way to get this thing back up and running before Woodward?
Thanks ahead of time,
Tony
Picture to give you an idea of what he's driving, personally i hate yellow, and convertibles, but i love this car..
