In my Stang i have a fuel injected 393 stroker. This is a street car that i plan to drive on the freeway but not very often. Its got a 25" tall tire and a tko 600 trans with a 1st gear ratio of 2.87 and 5th gear is 0.64. What would be better to run a 3.73 or a 4.10, or something different? Also what kind of diffs are you guys running in yours? Eatons, auburns? I want to run a 31 spline diff with strange axles but dont know which diff i should get. All help will be appreciated, thanks!

i would go with either 373 or 355 because thats what alternative performance told me would be best. because windsor motors like higher rpms and the lower gear will help out in the top end. thats what i was told.

well with that 6 speed trans you have i would not go bigger then a 3.73 and that would be with a 27 tall tire or so. 1st gear is gonna run out on you fast.

N/a set-up 3.73 or 4.10 based on tire size as mentioned by FiveFour2000GT

boosted or nitrous gig 3.23-3.73 based on tire size and power level

So if they like higher RPM wouldnt you want to go with a steeper ratio i.e. 4.10, 4.56, ect.

I just told him what was told to me by lidio at alternative performance he told me to keep my 355 instead of using the 410 i had because the 355 was better for a windsor he told me 410 was more suited for a 302 based engine.

Usually a larger engine has its power band at lower RPMs... So then the shallow gear would somewhat make sence. just not a shallow gear for higher RPM..

Thanks for all the replies. Scott over at driveline solutions recommend going with a 3.73 for my setup so well see. Thanks again for all you guys's help.

Wha Lidio told is not totally correct. It does not matter if its a 302 or 460, the power band will dictate what gear is needed. You could need more than a 4.10 gear, more info is needed.
