Anyone have a unit 80 gallons or so? How do you like it? Unit keep up no problem? I'm about to rip this tankless off my wall and scrap it...

We have an 80, no issues at all with our family of 4. I told you the tankless was a bad idea!!

I was thinking about tankless water heaters the other day. Why dont you like yours?

I wish our house had a mini tankless under each sink so we could get hot water asap. I feel like I have to wait forever for the water to start coming out hot, especially when youre on the other side of the house from where the tank is.

What do you hate about the tank less? I have heard that is the way to go I thought.

Not in Michigan. The ground water here is only 42-44*........tankless heaters work great in the south where the ground water is 70*. The capacity of tankless units goes WAY down when your Delta T goes up.

Even the biggest baddest 200K BTU units from Rheem only flow like 3-4GPM with a Delta T of 80* (most people have their water heaters set around 120*). If you have 2 sinks turned on, that is more than 3GPM.

Ive heard of people combining a tank & tankless.
80 sounds huge.
Don't combine them... Doesn't work worth a damn either... Been there done that... No dice...

Don't do it... TRUST ME... I have the baddest 200k unit and it doesn't do shit...

At the point I was at it was already wall mounted and plumbed in... I had no choice... :(

Bingo... Ground water has now been in upper 30s... 37-39 coming in from Detroit river... My boy at DPW has been checking temps for me...

Makes sense in the winter, rest of the year it should be in the low 40's. Get a big tank and be done with it.

I have two 40 gallon tanks one gets cold water inlet the other gets only hot water and is used for storage. The best way to do it is the storage tank can be electric the other natural gas. Doing it this way ensures you 60 gallons of hot water since the storage tank will only get hot water. Good luck

I just helped a member here install a hot water heater

It was something like this. Supposed to be more efficient due to the blower motor on the top.

It's this one, I replaced a std 40 gal with it. I have the temp setting about half way compared to all the way on the old one for same temp and duration of water.

When I remodeled the whole house I put the 200k tankless in for down the road... That way I can grow into it with the family... I rather have too much then not enough...

Lol..I would think it would cost allot to keep that 80gal. Tank hot all the time....I think the double tank sounded like a good idea...
On a side note, text me, I need to order those shocks from you

Hmmm...interesting...I really have no idea what it would cost, say my tank, 40gal gas, but I keep my water above average for temp...

66 gallon electric. Tank is set on the warm side. Family of 3 (sometimes 4). Does a good job. Can't remember the last time it went cold.
