At the point I was at it was already wall mounted and plumbed in... I had no choice...We have an 80, no issues at all with our family of 4. I told you the tankless was a bad idea!!

Bingo... Ground water has now been in upper 30s... 37-39 coming in from Detroit river... My boy at DPW has been checking temps for me...Not in Michigan. The ground water here is only 42-44* here........tankless heaters work great in the south where the ground water is 70*. The capacity of tankless units goes WAY down when your Delta T goes up.
Even the biggest baddest 200K BTU units from Rheem only flow like 3-4GPM with a Delta T of 80* (most people have their water heaters set around 120*). If you have 2 sinks turned on, that is more than 3GPM.

It was something like this. Supposed to be more efficient due to the blower motor on the top.
When I remodeled the whole house I put the 200k tankless in for down the road... That way I can grow into it with the family... I rather have too much then not enough...80 gal. Is huge for just 2 people, I have a HE, power vent Rheem 40gal., we can all take a standard length time shower, and still be fine....

I would think it would cost allot to keep that 80gal. Tank hot all the time
