Vortec 4200 I-6 Turbo IROC-Z

Thanks guys!

The exhaust manifold coating is.... Get this.... Antisieze.. :) brush it on rusty exhaust manifold. Exhaust heat burns away the fluid in it and it leaves a grey finish. You can do it with the Copper antisieze too I hear if you want that moonshine distiller look.. Ha Oh and it smokes for a few heat cycles..

Hard to tell really. Last combo had 600hp and a glide. 0-80 in first gear with 28" tires.. Now I have 26" tires and a LOT steeper first gear in the 4L65 trans.. Feels wierd and sounds even wierder. I need to run someone with a 14.0 car and see where it stands. Might go 13.00.. Might go 15.50.. :)

Very cool build. I have been talked out of doing a 4.2L turbo 3 times, and I'm still getting around to putting EFI on my 6.0.. have fun!..

Kudos to you for doing a sick driver-friendly build. I always wanted to do a swap like that, maybe in a few years I always say, lol.

I have a low 13 car u can practice against. Let me know.

Cool build. I like the "out of the box" thinking. There's a guy on Corvette Forum doing a turbo I4 from a Solstice in a C4 autocross car.

Thanks! That would shed a lot of weight off a C4's nose for sure. I thought about an Ecotec, then I bought a 2.9 4 banger out of the Colorado's..(~200hp) Then I thought about doing the inline 5 like my H3 has(250hp).. It has a rear sump pan that would have made life a LOT easier.

Beigg! I'll pass, looking for a 14.0/100mph car.

Joe, Ill be by today!

Joe will be busy eating pie!

7psi+ just stabbing it so far in 2nd gear, it pulls nice! BOV isn't working right. (It's not plumbed in the pics)Feels like the spring is too strong in it. It came with a weaker spring but that is supposed to be for big cammed cars with little vacuum. The 4200 has 20" of vacuum. Shorten the MAF wires, extend the oil pressure sensor wires, center console finishing, more A/W plumbing.
