Finally got a tubular k-member!!!! I cannot wait to take the stock fat pig of a k-member off the car and get this bad boy installed!

Nice...

A-arms or no?

No BMR fits stock a-arms and stock rack. No need for a-arms. Im not road racing the thing lol. Aftermarket a-arms are a bit heavier then the stock arms. I'll probably change the ball joints and such while i do it. Get me some prices sometime if you could.

have fun with the ball joints. OMG what a pain on my Camaro.

Bushings were a bitch too on the a-arms but made a pretty noticeable difference.

Damn, nice baller! Pulling the motor just for a k member?!?!?!:thinkerg:

No pulling of the motor. You gonna stop by and give me a hand installing? Im sure you know how to install these bitches. Then again..you prob have pulled the motor...im doing this with the motor in the car still lol.

Nice. F-body K-frames are heavy, I have those at work. I know your car is prolly low mileage, but those a-arm bolts are always seized inside the dowel. Hopefully yours come out no problem. I vote for new bushings and ball joints as well as the other member stated.

You'll be able to keep the motor in with that job. Do you have a strut tower brace? IF so, you can chain it to that.

I hope i dont have any probs. I will be doing ball-joints and bushings as i stated..why not right.

Yea i have a strut tower brace..Hotckins brace. Ill be doing my research on supporting the motor while i pull it. I was thinking of an engine lift..but that'll be all sorts of in the way under the car.

sweet! I'll be waiting for sure.I mean i have a propane heater and such..but its just uncomfortable laying on the cold ground. I can wait to install my 1 "mod" for the year. Other then this..car sits the same. this isnt a HP gain lol..just sick of that bulk ass stock one.

you can hang it from the top(cherry picker, hanger ect) or support it from the bottom using the pan

Nice. I've got one for the Trunk this year also. I figure knocking 50+ lbs off the front end should help

I don't think you will. Your car looks clean in the avatar and I'm sure you rarely drive it.

Engine lifts/cherry pickers are nice, but with the huge bumper cover on the Trans Am, it might be a tight fit to get that to work. Don't want to fuck your paint up and they do get in the way.

I don't think you want to support it by the pan either like the above post says. I've done it to cars at work...(junk cars) and sometimes it works, sometimes they cave in a little...so I'd advise you don't do that.

ls1's have thick aluminum pans

im yet to decide how to support the motor. I'll have to see how much room i have under the car with a cherry picker hooked up. If i can squeak in and tighten up the k-member..i'll do it that way. This also requires me to pull the intake and such off.
