Finally got a tubular k-member!!!! I cannot wait to take the stock fat pig of a k-member off the car and get this bad boy installed!
Nice...
A-arms or no?
Damn, nice baller! Pulling the motor just for a k member?!?!?!:thinkerg:
Nice. F-body K-frames are heavy, I have those at work. I know your car is prolly low mileage, but those a-arm bolts are always seized inside the dowel. Hopefully yours come out no problem. I vote for new bushings and ball joints as well as the other member stated.
You'll be able to keep the motor in with that job. Do you have a strut tower brace? IF so, you can chain it to that.
If you need a press let me know... Old faithful is in the back waiting... :rockwoot:
Ok sounds good to me...
No pulling of the motor. You gonna stop by and give me a hand installing? Im sure you know how to install these bitches. Then again..you prob have pulled the motor...im doing this with the motor in the car still lol.
I'll give ya a hand, just let it warm up some..My car, hasn't been touched.. at all..
I hope i dont have any probs. I will be doing ball-joints and bushings as i stated..why not right.
Yea i have a strut tower brace..Hotckins brace. Ill be doing my research on supporting the motor while i pull it. I was thinking of an engine lift..but that'll be all sorts of in the way under the car.
ls1's have thick aluminum pansI don't think you will. Your car looks clean in the avatar and I'm sure you rarely drive it.
Engine lifts/cherry pickers are nice, but with the huge bumper cover on the Trans Am, it might be a tight fit to get that to work. Don't want to fuck your paint up and they do get in the way.
I don't think you want to support it by the pan either like the above post says. I've done it to cars at work...(junk cars) and sometimes it works, sometimes they cave in a little...so I'd advise you don't do that.
