turbo guys come in! oil pressure issue

It'll probably just end up on craigslist  "brand new, only idled"

Takes some balls to idle and rev a motor that might even possibly have no oil pressure lol

What I think may be happening is the feed line may be creating a vacuum to the gauge showing -0- oil pressure. A "T" can have that effect, wheres a "Y" won't.

it had oil pressure the entire time, just fried the turbo...new ones already installed

got to much in this car for it to end up on craigslist haha. its actually going to Salinas Motorsports soon for a tune if i cant figure it out this weekend.

I didn't really read the whole thread until I went back to see what the problem was. Turbos don't really have seals in the way most people imagine they would and will always leak a little bit like a piston ring. If you're smoking big time then the turbo is toast or the oil isn't draining properly. Most of the time with new custom installations I would suspect improper drainage but in your case the turbo is/was toast.

yea, i have a huge drain line on...didn't know oil wasn't going to the turbo till it was to late...no biggy. rebuild kit from on 3 is 44$, gonna rebuild it and toss it in the trailer as a spare for the track.
