Just a heads up for you guys.

Was a target getting a bday gift for a kid and came back to a truck that they were so close to getting away with.

If it would have been a normal shopping trip for sure the truck would have been gone. Police said that it was the third SS that day and the other two were stolen! He said that it was a new operation in the area and they were going after GM/SS's (Trailblazer's/ Silverado's)

Sucks you cant have nice things...now I am thinking about selling my baby and getting a flex...

It's Allen Park, cops are too busy nailing drivers on the southfield freeway, instead of deterring auto theft

That's the money maker!

FYI the hill, where target is, is private property. Last I heard. The owners weren't doing anything for security. Why should the police patrol private property? They have been hit hard with layoffs and pay cuts and bullshit

But how do Police deter auto theft? I'm sure they are swamped with other calls (medical, general assistance, etc) and rarely get to patrol.

I guess I'm just saying its a little rediculos when you see two or more cop cars hiding behind a bridge on the Southfield freeway nailing people for speeding. There's no good reason the speed limit there should be 55mph they just keep it there because they generate mass revenue from all the tickets they write there. Maybe they can spend a little more time patrolling roads other than Southfield fwy.

Southfield is 55 till it ends on both ends. It's not a city rd. they can't control the speed limit. The county does.

I've never been stopped in that area. Lived there 35 years.

Don't speed. :-D

It's a money maker plain and simple.

Sure is!!!!! As far the trucks being stolen its bs, since police is always on Southfield freeway they should put it together and realize the thieves jump right on and go north to the hood. They should spend a day and stop all tbss and sss goin north on Southfield freeway, can be frustrating bit I won't be surprised they catch something

Shit I'd let the police use my truck as bait so they can catch those fucktards. As long as they guarantee it won't be damaged of course

You got that right... they aren't people from allen park stealing the cars.. its ghetto hood rats from detroit 3 miles north coming down to steal them, just like all the theft from detroit residents in the stores you read about in the newspaper off the blotter. All from Detroit.

On that note, they can/do still enforce traffic laws on this private property because it has public access. I think a great money maker would be traffic/speeding patrols on side streets, where pedestrians safety is constantly at risk. Wick RD would be a great place to start.

Is it just me, or does it seem like GM SUV's go through waves of being stolen? Back in the early 90s my uncle had 3 jimmys stolen in a row. Every time his insurance would cover for a new one, it got stolen. The last time he said fuck that and got a different car. LOL

Thanks for the heads up.
Mine may not be a big target right now with regular Trailblazer wheels on it, but you never know.

If they really wanted to generate revenue they'd park a car on Reeck road. People use that road as a cut-through from Allen to Goddard to avoid 3 traffic lights. Residential area and people routinely go 40+.

That's the main reason I sold mine. I have been reading more and more on the TBSS boards about them being stolen. After what I went through last summer when mine got stolen, I never want to go through that again! It would have been much easier if it was never found!

I thought that these newer cars were harder to steal. Isn't there a code key or something? Or are they just hooking the tires and taking off? I am getting bummed out by this because I was thinking of getting one when my truck lease is up next fall. Is there anything you could do other than keeping your onstar up to date?
