Toledo Speed Camera's

Heads up if you didn't know, Toledo has speed cameras, you probably don't have to ask me how I know...

Anyway, the ticket I got says that the "Recorded Images do constitute prima facia evidence of a violation" and does not have any info on court appearances etc..

DAFUQ does that mean?

Do I have no choice but pay the ticket, no option to appear in court or talk to somebody about a reduction in penalty?

Do they assign points to whomever pays the fine?
I ask because it's a company car, and not registered to me. There is no camera image of the driver, only a photo of the rear of the car and zoomed image of the plate. I plan to pay the fine, but need to understand if I have the ability to appear in court, plea it down for less points, or if points are even assigned in traffic camera violations? FWIW, I'm licensed in MI, not OH.

If it wasn't your car how'd they send the ticket to you?

Just another reason Ohio blows donkey dicks.

pri·ma fa·ci·e
ˌprīmə ˈfāSHē/
adjective & adverbLaw
adjective: prima facie; adverb: prima facie

based on the first impression; accepted as correct until proved otherwise.
"a prima facie case of professional misconduct"

Legal Definition of prima facie. : sufficient to establish a fact or case unless disproved

same as being witnessed by an officer, go ahead and see if you can talk it down to no points

Sent it to my employers vehicle operations group. They looked up who was assigned that car (not me actually), person whom the car was assigned to happily forwarded it to me.

Yep got the direct definition, I knows how's to google too [emoji12], just need to understand if this means that they are saying "pay up beeyotch, don't bother coming to court" or "we like fancy words to say you are guilty until proven innocent, bring your best legal argument and we'll see if we can come to more reasonable terms".

that guy's a jerk lol

I got a speeding ticket outside of Cleveland and they let me go in and lower it to obstructing traffic or something like that. The same deal they do around here. I would definitely ask for the hearing.

Are their cameras on the regular roads or expressways?
I thinking it's a mobile camera. The pic of my car is from an overpass, thinking it's the Benore road overpass since the ticket location said I75 S & Ottawa River. Also said it was taken with a witnessing officer. Putting it all together, I think they were shooting from the police car on an overpass where they can't run you down.

So you were on the expressway and their camera was on an overpass? That's pretty shady!

I see cops around here doing live laser "speed traps" from overpasses, with patrol cars waiting up ahead, but they have to catch you and identify you right there.

From the angle of the pic, that's my best guess. If the location noted in the ticket is correct, it's an overpass with no highway access too. I'll post a pic of the shots they took, all of the back of the car.

In Georgia it's strictly a revenue stream. You can't go to court for them and have no way to counter it. It's collected by a third party service and the revenue is paid to the state then.

It's smelling like that for Toledo. Lots of instructions, affidavit if they sent the ticket to the wrong driver, and zero contact information. Except for paying for the ticket via credit card.
