This is why its risky to have your car on the internet

Supposedly Channel 7 is going to have a segment on the air tonight about rich men in expensive exotic cars endangering the lives of poor detroit area citizens.

They showed footage of the infamous white-GT-blasting-through-I-94 footage from the Bull Run. I'm not sure what will come of it, but it's transparently obvious who's driving the car. Someone called me this A.M to notify me it would be on the air in a panic that it was me (it is not).

Besides the threat of prosecution, I'd be worried about repercussions at work. In any case, I'm supposed to hang out with said guy this weekend, and it'll be interesting to see what he has to say about it...

Be careful out there :peelout:

Wasn't there a previous new story on the bull run GT video on the news? I didn't actually see the news, just a preview for it. Probalby within the last week. Mentioned something about the driver getting in trouble because the plate was readable.

I was told tonight at 11. I'm curious to see how "fear for you life" it is, as it's another convenient excuse to screw with people with fast cars...I hope he doesn't get into any hot water over this, and he probably is completely unaware of it...ha.

Hell the way I saw it was the driver of the white car was being chased and was running for his life.:peelout:

I think it was on the news once before, so who knows why they were talking about it this morning. Oh wait, I know, this kind of shit gets viewers because it's so serious :pow:

And no shit on the who cares bit, driving out of the D, you HAVE to go ape or else you run the risk of a three wheel hoopdie pulling a 4-laner and crashing into you because they are busy text messaging, high, laying down so low you see their head only in the back window. It is what it is...

hmmmmm whats more dangerous? a guy who knows his car and how to handle it or a lady in a minivan putting on her make up and talking on the cell at 70-80?

how about they do special on that shit!

When I drive like an ass I still use my turn signals so people know where I'm going.

Much like the legal issues with photo radar and assigning a long term tangables to the owner of the vehicle. I suspect this would be the same as I dont believe the ever show said drivers face. Car could have been borrowed, specially with an M plate on it..hehe
As usual, I think the Media's bark is much worse than its bite.

I hope so. How's that garage door opener treating you?

Very nice thanks, thinking of painting it flourecent orange so I wont do it again :).

I heard you came over in a car suspiciously looking like the one in the above said video :)

That I did, luckily mine has stripes and the one in the video doesn't. That's what makes it so obvious. Not many stripeless white GT's in Detroit.

Still waiting for you to post a picture of it. I've never seen a stripeless White GT.

I agree there's no proof that the owner of the car was the one driving it. The burden would be on the prosecution's side not the defendant's so I am sure he will be fine if he plays it smart. I've seen much worse on video and still no legal repercussion.
