This cold is BRUTAL on the Diesel!

Been starting the truck every 3 hours just to keep it warmed up enough to keep starting. Still struggles a bit to fire right away. Its a good thing I can keep it plugged in and in my garage at night.

My Kubota Diesel tractor started no problem this morning... You would think that a modern truck could fire up easily.

My diesel Jetta also had no problem starting :)

-7 right now, peak morning hours its supposed to be -15, then the heat wave rolls thru.

My 7.3 had been running nonstop for thirtysomething hours until I shut it off last night. Then I fell asleep before I plugged it in. Fuck. Not looking forward to starting it up today.

I have a 01 7.3 plugged it in and parked it next to my trailer to block some of the wind fired right up at 6:30 this morning. I do have 2 new batteries.

I am very lost when you guys are talking about plugging it in?

I know nothing about diesel trucks.

I store mine in the winter, but even a good truck can fail when it's this cold because the fuel gels up. Even plugging them in doesn't cure that all the time. -17 deg is extreme.

My Duramax just laughed at me this morning. Bad glow plug here as well.. But wife's Acadia was nice 'n toasty in the DAMN garage.

The ghetto cruiser fired in the first try. Let her warm for 1/2 hour before I made my way to work. Watched some dude in a Saturn go sideways through the intersection at Martin/Gratiot.

My pea-shooter Neon wouldn't start. The battery is pretty new too. I had to throw a charger on it for 20 mins. And when it finally started it sounded very angry.
