The Z06 is sold!! What to get next??

Vette.
Listen.
People that hate vettes will hate them more because of this 'ss'. I don't know about you, but that makes me want one even more. It's still 'just a vette' . You're right. It's still gonna 'just whoop your ass' :pimp: Gallardo<Vette When you get it, get a specialized plate that says tmamrca = team america. Then when people see it. They'll say "FUCK YA!"

This is a pretty good post dirtybird. Made me laugh pretty hard. I like the whole team america plate idea! Vettes are sweet. I like them. A really fast Vette is even sweeter. But when you talk supercar money, you can still buy a domestic that is ultra fast thats not a Corvette. I guess if your a Vette lover its fine, but I was under the impression that fadi was looking for some ideas other than a Corvette.

Its like the Super Snake. That car is fuggin' SWEET! I would LOVE to have one. Shit, I'd love to just ride in one sometime during my life. But...its still just a mustang. Yeah, its 700+ hp and looks like a demon spawn from the depths of hell, but when you break it down, its not really exotic, it cant handle like a mid engine super car and wont get the attention of somthing like a Lambo, Ford GT, Saleen S7, etc...

You can still have all the speed you can handle out of cars that arn't vettes. I donno, if its at all possible, I would take a list of possible cars you want to buy and try and test drive them. Dont think you can because of the price tag on them, but if you could I would do that and go from there.

It sounds like the SS is more your style. You will not like the Lambo as a drag car. DBK's write up is dead on as far as I'm concerned. I drove an 07 Lambo and an 07 430 and the 430 was a nicer, more well rounded car (I thought). You don't get that explosive power out of the exotics like you will the Vette...and the Vette will still handle/ brake great.

That's what I don't get though - he just sold a Z06...if he wanted that high HP vette, why not just supercharge the Z06? Or TT? What's going to be so different about this new vette other than rarity (over a modded C6 Z06)?

If you want a change, the Gallardo Roadster is a very good choice. The hard-top is nice, too, but I think the Roadster has a little more character. I wouldn't go with the BMWs listed...they're nice if you need 1 car to do everything, but if you're just looking for a fun car you don't need rear seats or 4 doors, or anything like that. Ford GT is a good idea - I've always loved the looks of those, and you'd be keeping it American, if that's something you consider. They handle great, are pretty rare, have good potential as far as increasing the power, and definitely have an exotic look. There's always the Viper, too. You'd be saving a bit of money, and could spend that giving it 1000HP. I like the Ultima idea, too. Those are pretty rare, and are great all-around sports cars...fast, and good handling, a touch of exotic, but still powered by an American V8.

True. There are some badass turbo kits for those C6's now. Yeah FADI, why not just mod your car you just sold? Wanted something a little different? Then again, the new vette will be nicer in some areas (and that's all I can say about that for now.....:secret: )

Could always go with my favorite, the 360 Challenge Stradale

Lots of upkeep, but you won't find another experience like it.

Well, I sold the Z06 today. Definitely a sad sight watching it roll away from my driveway.

Now, my question to you guys is:

If you had to choose between a Corvette SS/BD/Stingray or whatever it will be called and a 2005 Gallardo, what would you pick and why?

With me, I go back and forth. Everytime I look at a Gallardo everything else in my mind becomes obsolete. But then again, everytime I think about a 650 HP Vet that will beat anything under 500K I get excited too. So, I am a little confused and just thought I would get some opinions from you guys. What would you choose and why?

TIA..:rockwoot:

I'd give me a heads up next time your selling a car :pissed:

I'd get the Vette but I'm all about performance not show.

That is a sweet idea for the plate :rockwoot:

Thanks everyone for your inputs. I have read all of them. The bottom line is this:

My heart is telling me to get the Vet because as most of you know, I love racing. I race A LOT. I don't care about "It's still a Vet" comments and I don't care for attention. I am happily married (I think, lol) and picking up woman in a car is not my intentions. Actually, I often laugh at those who purchase exotics just to get girls. That is when you know you are pathetic.

My brain tells me to get the Gallardo. Why? To be honest, mainly because I am so infatuated with the way the car looks. Not for other people, but for me. But like some of you have stated, maintenance costs, driveability, etc are things to consider. Like I said, I am not rich and I don't want to rack up BS costs on the car.

Someone mentioned the FGT. The FGT is a fine car. I met with DBK before and saw the car in person and it is indeed beautiful. I guess I never thought about it because I either wanted the fastest new car on the road (SS) or want the coolest looking car on the road (Gallardo, and imo). But maybe that is definitely another option to consider.

I know all about the SS. I work for GM powertrain HQ's..;) You guys want to see real pics? lol..jjjjjust kidding..;)

The Gallardo was designed by Belgian Luc Donckerwolke.
At current U.S. prices, a base Gallardo costs about US$165,000 to $200,000

I will say it again...Where is the line..I want to stand in it because I know it will be long and distingished!

That my friend is some serious coin for a automobile to ride around in.:eek5:

That is a AWESOME CAR and one of my favorites. But you want to talk about problamatic...

Yeah, lol...Ferrari's aren't meant to be...well...reliable. They're good at being what they are (great handling, wonderful sounding, high performance sports cars), but terrible at being what they're not (practical, reliable, daily driven cars)

I guess I never thought about it because I either wanted the fastest new car on the road

FGT with twin turbos = scary fast. I saw one on the dyno down at PRI - they had it on very low boost and it made 750whp. Why didn't they crank up the boost? It was the Dynojet people demonstrating their dyno (to potential buyers), and the TT-FGT couldn't maintain traction on the rollers at higher boost, even with full racing slicks (made for a choppy dyno graph). What an amazing sound, though.
