Have you shot SKEET? Know the rules? Island Lake requires a 26" bbl or longer..... got one or would you need to borrow one (have many)

many moons ago i spent a lot of time skeet shooting with a Remington 1100? dam thing was very accurate.
i bought a few spaz?? models before they banned them. never has the chance to play with them though. maybe some day.

Best home defense weapon, Postban, you are sooo right, the ultimate one shot stopper, and GREAT info.

Here is the only link i need for new/upgrading shotguns, IMO the best shotgun you can get, might even be worth .02

I do believe Remington offers a fairly priced "upgrade/update" for older 870's, replace older/worn parts, update to current specs, etc. One thing though, ive NEVER bought a new shotgun (other than the wilsons) that didnt go straight to my gunsmith for some work, mostly minor stuff, but still, smooth up the action, play with the trigger, etc. I dream of the day that i can get the Savage accu-trigger in an 870, hell, i want one in every rifle/shotgun, even my Dakota Longbow. I think Benelli? has had a "double action style" trigger for a while, any body ever try it?

Im done collecting, only buy pratical now :crap:, cant afford the outragous insurance payments any more :banghead: (5X more than insuring 4 cars, with a dedicated strong room.)

...

It was Mossberg with a DA trigger on a scattergun, 500/590 series. Only reason was to make it synonymous with Beretta, SW and SIG triggers. Long ponderous DA trigger, thinking was to make it so FNG troops would not pop a civi unduly.

OK, i just remember someone saying that they designed it to compensate for the lack of training the millitary and police are getting, so i stayed FAR away from it, dont like 14 lb'rs. (Sick joke, they know there is an issue with training, and they dumb guns down...)

Never really shot SKEET competively... Just for fun with friends... It's always fun amongest friends...

Proper skeet is a ton of fun as are handthrown clays out in a field. I like the challenge of skeet because you can measure your skills as you get better.

We need to do BOTH! Some informal claybashing on gunday and then out to Island for the real deal. You will like it.
