I will never understand why its more bad ass to have a car run 9's on pump gas then race fuel? Whats the big deal? I could careless myself.


Now that fact that John went low 9's with a 302 based block and OJ you went high 9's with a stock stroke 351 with a Performer head is impressive to me who gives a fuck what fuel you ran LOL.

Must be a different Sean agreeing with you because you're on another planet on this one man. And I never called anyone stupid or even insinuated it.

I have seen cars run like complete crap on motor and then run great on spray and that's to be expected. If you put the right gear, converter, etc behind that 11.20 nitrous trim car you refer to, it would probably run a second or more faster than it does with all the nitrous gear. What I was talking about is how much power the engine makes, which is independent of whatever trans, gear, converter you put behind the motor. A badass conventional headed 468 should make 800+ on motor. That doesn't mean it will go mid 9's on motor when everything else on the car is setup for nitrous.

Vince's ride two years ago would go low 10's on motor in nitrous trim and with a 28 pill in the fogger it went a best of 8.6's without changing anything else. Powerglide + tight converter killed his times because it was an easy mid 9-second ride on motor with the right supporting parts.

When you get your truck back together and want a little action, let me know if you can make it up to Mid Michigan Motorplex. If you're willing to line up next to a '70's Jeep CJ with a pump gas motor, I'm all for it. I'll be driving it to the track as well. It would probably have to be an 1/8th mile thing though, as I'm not so sure I'll run the whole track.
Should be a good match up, pump gas SBC vs. pump gas SBC, both on motor. Stock suspension leaf spring, almost same weight, etc.
