I don't know you but it's seems as if you enjoy making yourself look like a total ass.... Did your parents neglect you? Do you have no friends?
That pic says it all!!!:icon_mrgr

I'm going to have to disagree with you guys thinking a nitrous motor should make a significant (sounds like you guys think 25-50% underpowered is ok???) amount less than a naturally aspirated motor. That's just what lack-luster engine builders want you to believe! And don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself.

What makes a nitrous motor a nitrous motor anyways? Camshaft, compression maybe, ring package, little more rotating mass with beefier parts...I don't see that making more than a 5-15% difference in overall power.

Most racing nitrous motors make close to 2hp per cube.

800 at 421 = 1.9 hp/cube
800 at 468 = 1.7 hp/cube

Racing n/a motors can make up in the 2.5 hp/cube neighborhood when you're really going after it. Good example of that would be Chris Urachtko's 358. He went 8's at over 150 on the motor with it at around 3000 lbs I believe. I think he said that motor made 700-800 hp and that was down over 100 cubes to that 468.

How much hp/cube should a nitrous motor make compared to an n/a motor? I am anxiously awaiting your guys responses so I be your engine builder!

I think you guys are confusing the problems with running a motor (in a vehicle at the track) in nitrous trim (ie converter, gear ratio, tire, etc) compared to having it setup ideally for running n/a. That can make a HUGE difference! But we're talking about how much power the engine makes, not how well it is utilized when components are put behind it that are meant for a lot more power (ie when you hit it with the 300-500 hp shot of nitrous).

i agree but the disagreement was that a standard headed 468 nitrous motor could easliy make over 800hp on motor, that is very hard to do.....
I didn't hear anything about standard headed...all I was told about the motor was that it would take 1000 hp of nitrous and that it was BADASS. Why would I assume a conventional headed bbc when all I am told is that I should be scared of it and that it's some killer weapon. Now your story is changing!

hemichallenged- You're on ignore. I'm done with you, and I feel sorry for you.

Sean- Sometimes I think you just like to argue lmao. I don't see anyone saying that the motor itself should make way less power. Like you said yourself, it's the whole combo that makes a dedicated nitrous car slower on motor: cam, gear, converter, etc that makes the big differences, ring package, etc makes smaller differences. Who are you actually arguing with?

I agree with you... The car I'm talking about had a "tight" converter, a 3.55 gear, weighed 2900, the car went 11.20's on motor & 8.80's on spray... The car did only make 420 on motor but is was built for a class (limited camshaft, cubes, intake manifold) it also was only 360 cubes...I feel bad for you chevy guy's needing 900 cubes and a 6,000 shot of spray to do that (lol J/K)

I made a comment that the 468 should make 850 on a bad day and they made it sound like it makes 500 or something. I just want the hit and if I have to write a thesis to get it, then so be it!!!

I know next to nothing about big block fords. But I can tell from the pics that it's not a straight-headed chevy which can make 800 at 468 inches all day! lol

Don't blow a gasket holmes!

LOL.....I don't blame ya, I think I did the exact same thing.

We're talking about small tire stock suspension cars here though, so the car makes a big difference, not just the motor. Isn't that car you're driving some crazy 25.something bad mofo? :)

Wheelz the motor looks fresh! It would look a lot better in the car so get to work... I want to see you laydown 8.0's @ milan this summer!! P.S. just hope you don't come across any of them there turbo mustangs:icon_mrgr J/K
