WELL just got myself up to speed....
opcorn:

They are business owners. They have the responsibility of acting professional to paying customers.
Throwing eggs and chicken feet is not how a business should handle ANY problems.
I'm sure that they have there share of a-holes to deal with. But they still have to act as adults.
As for you or Matt being treated with respect. You can bet you ass they will treat you guys with respect. I bet Milan gets more money from Motown Muscle than they pay in sponsorship. I also bet they get a good amount of money from Varsity Ford so they better treat Matt or Varsity people good.
So let's believe her and not the people who had problems.
Of course she will admit no wrong-doing.
All right, let me break it down people.
Milan has a duty to protect the drivers and the fans alike. Track conditions are understood by the drivers and the track at the time of the pass. You don't like it, you don't line up. Are spotters a good idea, yes and hopefully they add them for future Heads Up night races.
The emergency crews can not respond to an accident when everyone is jumping the wall. If spectators are in the way you can not help the drivers nor can you keep them safe. The safety crew is trained to do their jobs and respond. GTF out of the way and let them do it. Want to be heros get more people killed than they save in most cases.
In the heat of the moment there is no way to know who is family and who isn't. If you're a racer family member you get to the wall and you wait for security to take you over. You should know better than to jump the wall.
There is a 40mph difference between this accident and the car that hit the wall Friday night at PINKS ALL OUT at Norwalk. Same problem, everyone jumping the wall and getting in the way of the safety crew. They had to clear fans before they could get the driver out and the guy was unconsious with a broken leg and abdonminal injuires. He got medi-evac by the chopper. The guy could have bled out in the time that it took to get the fans out of the way so they could work on him safely.
All these drivers got lucky as we all do with each pass.
For those that want to protest, try volunteering to work at the track for the events. Get trained and work as a spotter for the events. If you want to make a differnce do more then just piss and moan on the internet. Get involved.

so if your wife was trapped in a race car you would wait on the other side of the wall until they gave you the ok to jump over??? i highly doubt that. And if someone pushed my wife over a wall or slammed a car door on her id be stomping a mud hole in their ass, boy or girl....

Thats the exact same thing I was thinking.
Im not trying to sound like a dick but when a loved one could be hurt no one is gonna sit back and twiddle their thumbs..... I would have been beside myself if someone treated my wife that way....
I have had a loved one pushed away from me during a time when someone was trying to save my life. Loved ones tend to get in the way and let their emotions get in the way of their senses and physically get in the way of saving people's lives.
Just because your instincts tell you that you need to be there with that person at that exact moment doesn't mean that is the best thing for that person. I'm sure it is the worst feeling in the world having to sit back and wait and watch, but sometimes, that's the only way it can be done.
Go into a hospital and watch what happens when someone starts to get seriously sick. The people working there treat the loved ones with as much respect as they can but when it comes down to it, if they have to tell you to get your ass out of the way, they're going to.

And if you are trapped in your car would you prefer they let your wife run to you just as the car blows up and takes her out too? What if that delay in handling the family causes the loss of the driver, the family and the rescue worker(s)? What do we tell the rescue worker's wife and kids?so if your wife was trapped in a race car you would wait on the other side of the wall until they gave you the ok to jump over??? i highly doubt that. You haven't been in a big enough hurry then.I've never heard anyone in a hospital cuss a family member out because they got in the way.. let alone push them.
That sounds like the right thing to do, but what about getting in the way while the rescue workers are doing work? When you drive past an accident on the highway are family members crowded around the car while the rescue workers are doing there thing?
You haven't been in a big enough hurry then.If you've ever been in the room when the code goes and they are bringing in the cart for the third time, even the pros loose their cool. Nothing like a set of Docs and Nurses trying to clear out family members that are nurses so they can do their jobs.

Yes, rules suck, but they are there to protect the lives of as many people as possbile in a bad situation.
We should all be happy that this is only coming down to a wife being pissed about getting ruffled and a drivers pride being hurt. The loss of the car and pride sucks but we can all come back from that.

My mom was a nurse and my cousin is a nurse. I've never heard them tell me stories about telling people to get the fuck out of the way. Yes they might yell, but restraining yourself from using profanity is just the professional thing to do no matter how much panic there might be.
Yep, and the person that I'm talking about was my father getting his heart restarted for the third time that day. The three nurses that got chased out were my Mom, and my dad's two sisters one of whom was the head cardiac nurse at her hospital. All three highly trained and they were in the way trying to do the work themselves in someone elses hospital. That's pros tripping over pros in a life saving event. Imagine what it's like when the amateaurs are not only in the way, but putting everyone at risk too.
Guess what, we went back to the same hospital for his next attack too. Because they were damn good at what they did. :bigthumb:
