The Milan thread

Give us the names of the interent urban legend witnesses???

The owners are never involved in these mystery incidents. It was supposedly two girls who didn't like what the team was doing right? Too many versions hears 3rd and 4th hand.

Rick

In the yellowbullet post there are a few first hand incidents that have come to light. Nothing about the one you are talking about here. I don't really expect anyone to not go there anymore. Just put enough pressure on them to change or sell to new owners.

Milan has a duty to protect the drivers and the fans alike. Track conditions are understood by the drivers and the track at the time of the pass. You don't like it, you don't line up.

This not exactly true. You are strapped in your car. You really can not tell the track conditions. You have to rely on the professionalism and knowledge of the track owners to make the correct decision as to send another pair of cars down the track or stop the show and take a look. With Milan's ,chip on the shoulder attitude, I don't think I can trust them to make the correct decision. I think Milan was in a hurry to get the show in before the rain and didn't make the right decision and sent 2 cars down an unsafe track.

This is still no reason for the owners and their daughter to act the way they did. You didn't see Norwalk shoving people around. They may have been short with the people because of the nature of the accident, but I didn't hear any swearing and calling names.

I highly doubt the most respected online drag website would publish false information...

Because credible sources never publish false information? In that case Al Gore has been a President and Mitch Al-bum goes to all the pistons games.

And because you weren't there it never happened?!?!? Give me a fucking break... It did happened... Learn to accept it...

I was there last Heads Up race watching. I'll be there Saturday watching and maybe running. I'll have cars displayed there and once my ride is done in the next week or so I'll be out testing.

You have been there this year. Are you nt going to to show up for anymore racing? If so, good luck with that. I'm sure you can get updates from the people that are there.

Do you really think a boycott is going to work? Hey after we boycott Milan can we boycott the Oil companies? How about we don't fill our cars up on....Thrusdays! That should do it

You know instead of being so negative toward people of the club maybe you( being one with more pull then any of us) could talk to your uncle and get varsity to pull out as sponsor..

or you could continue to post in disbelief and do nothing.. Less people are already attending the heads up event.. open your eyes!!!

BTW FYI both cars were well known high dollar cars. the guy in the thread had a very nice and safe mustang with a fire system. I am all in for a boycott, and haven't given them 1 dime this year.

Negative towards the club? Please!

So we <Varsity Ford> should pull sponsorship from Milan because of this? I guess if the Detroit News prints something some people don't like, we should stop advertising there also?

Milan and Varsity Ford are connected in one way. ADVERTISEMENT! If being a sponsor isn't bringing customers in, then the sponsorship will stop. It comes down to dollars and cents.

Open my eyes? How would you know attendance at the Heads Up event? According to you, you haven't been there this year. I was there during this event and even with the threat of RAIN the stands were packed. I guess you wouldn't know since you weren't there. Maybe you heard it 2nd or 3rd hand.

When did I ever discredit the cars? Maybe YOU should open your eyes and read a little more before YOU make any statements like that! I was bummed to see such a beautiful car<71 Camaro> be ruined. I hope he can repair it and get back racing.

Wait a minute... I thought we were the most respected online drag site??? :D

Think about how many times a regular news station gets the story wrong from a poor eye witness account. How often do we bitch about a poorly done story about a street race accidents?

Again Cody knew better than to run down to the accident scene before he was cleared to do so for safety reasons but he let the event get to him.

Again, we don't have to go back any farther than the PINKS ALL OUT event during the exihibition at Norwalk on Friday night. The blue Nitro Funny car's chute was deployed after the burnout. He dropped his laundry by mistake or the crew goofed packing it. If a pro can do it so can Cody.

Now the internet urban legend sets in though because they did haul him off the line after it happen rather than let him pack it and go. That was a better choice than letting the other Funny car go with the blue car on the track at Norwalk and his crew picking it up. The other car passed them at about 250mph coasting.

I couldn't believe that!! If that car made a hard right and hit the other car in the right lane we would have been done for in the stands!

Not to mention cars running at night while a car was broken down in the shut down area against the wall

A driver's crew better know what the conditions are. Why is it just the tracks responsibility to have someone down range? If I'm making a pass in the 170+ on a DR, I think I can find a crew member or two to sit down there and let my chief know what he is seeing right?

The issue isn't the swearing to get you off the track, it's getting you off the track. If your rational, and you back away I don't need to swear at you. If you keep coming and bumping, what do you think I'm going to do to let you know I'm serious? Yell first, bump next and then push? None of this happens if specatators stay off the track.

Rick I understand your point(s), but why isn't Milan stating their case?

Once again its one of the only tracks somewhat close for many I doubt some of the bullshit and shananigans they pull will affect attendance that much. If you do not like the track and way your treated go somewhere else.

Because of the way that they treat people?
Does anyone at your dealership thow eggs and chicken feet at customers?
Does anyone at your dealership hit customers or swear at them?

THAT IS WHY there should be a boycott.

They need to learn about customer service!

Have you ever been mistreated there?

Who has been mistreated there that wasn't going too fast for their safety equipment?

That wasn't drinking where they shouldn't be?

That wasn't doing what they were asked to the first time?

I've been renting that track for more than six years now. I've been treated with nothing but respect from every member of their staff. They have gone out of their way to make it easy for MM to fly in and do our thing and fly out.

They take care of us when we have too many cars and they take car of us when we have too few cars.

As far as I know we've never had a single incident at any of our events with anyohe on the staff. If anyone ever does, all they need to do is find me and we'll get it taken care of. It's simple, repect has to go both ways.

As for you or Matt being treated with respect. You can bet you ass they will treat you guys with respect. I bet Milan gets more money from Motown Muscle than they pay in sponsorship. I also bet they get a good amount of money from Varsity Ford so they better treat Matt or Varsity people good.

They have NEVER done anything wrong to me.

Oh and don't use the "you sponsor the track" shit either. 95% of the staff don't know me from Adam. If I'm being an asshole you can bet Bill,Pam,Chris or Deneen will let me know.

In fact Bill got in my shit a couple years ago when I was fucking around on a Pit Bike. I was WRONG. I was being a dumbass. He let me know. I got the message.

Boycott all you want. I'm not going to since I don't have a reason. If they give me a reason then I will.

I deal with the public ALL day long, it's not always fun. Now add drinking to the mix? F that noise.

Rick I understand your point(s), but why isn't Milan stating their case?

I suspect Chris and Deneen tend to work a lot harder during the day than the rest of us. So they don't post here much. :)

All I can tell you is that when I saw Deneen on Saturday, she was expressing her concern for the drivers involved in the accident and hoping for a speedy recovery. We didn't go into details of the events of the night from her perspective but if you've met Deneen, you'd find most of what has been posted to be more than a bit hard to believe at this point.

I think we all have seen that it's beyond tough to defend yourself or your business on the internet. It's simply a no win proposition. Even if you can make it right with the customers that are impacted, there are simply some that love the drama storms that brew on the net. So the best approach is to work directly with the customers\drivers to lear from each incident and find a way to make things better.
