The Milan thread

Rotten eggs? Chicken feet? Random bitch-outs?

Granted, these are all thrid-party accounts, but still...pretty unprofessional.

But, I do see the safety point, and that I agree with. It was the other stuff that set me off.

It is a shame however that these incidents have been occuring. I really thought the track prep was improving and making it more enjoyable to run there. Not to mention some of the bigger events with the Top Fuel cars coming in which are a blast to watch:thumbup:

I'll probably be there this weekend anyways.

any old-timers remember when a bunch of racers tried to boycott back in the late 70's? milan said fuck you, banned 'em, and went on business as usual. trust me, it's been the same shit for over 30 years, nothings changing. deal with it, or drive twice as far to race. i'm not dis-agreeing with anyone here, but, that's just the way that track's always been run. just my $.02.

There are two sides to every story. You calling for a club sponsor (that you didn't even know was a sponsor) to be banned with out hearing both sides is ignorant, at best.
 
Stanton is closer to me, so that's where I've always gone. I went by Milan once and tried to get in on a T&T night, but that was the day they were testing that LS1 powered Aztek and the track was closed.

I'll bow out of the discussion now :lol:

How can there be another side of a couple of dozen people watching the owners and milan girls throw chicken parts at a racer, no matter WHAT he did ?!?!?!?!?!!?

You break the rules, you get dealt with. I got backed off the line there this year for breaking the rules. You don't hear me in full tear about it.

A year or two ago, some of the milan girls threw eggs and chicken parts at a racer that they were mad at. Thats typical behavior of the milan staff.

They pull parachute cords when racecars come up to the line to teach a lesson.

They assault people regardless of the circumstanses.

When was the last time you saw the wife of an accident victim give a level headed account of the events around them? I know for a fact my wife wouldn't be able to do it. :)

When was the last random account of someone getting pushed out of the way? We're going to go back to the completly innocent Ronnie Duke crew to find an account? As I recall it last, we had perfectly level headed MM members two years ago that were going to mix it up with them at WDC. No... they would never push anyone's buttons. :D

No one likes the call when it goes against them on the spot. Have any of these people actually called to discuss the issues with Chris and Deneen? I doubt it, we'd rather just complain about our favorite characters that have somehow never bothered any of us at a MM rental in the last 5 years???

I see your point but, even if only 10% of the stories are truthfull, the staff at milan has pulled some huge bullshit over the years.

Give us the names of the interent urban legend witnesses???

The owners are never involved in these mystery incidents. It was supposedly two girls who didn't like what the team was doing right? Too many versions hears 3rd and 4th hand.

The "Rooster Cogburn" Award - To the young ladies at Milan Dragway who pelted one particular area with chicken feet and raw eggs following a disagreement with the Hardcore Motorsports team. Each side alleges wrongdoing by the other, but this group of gals took an unorthodox approach to settling the matter. While it had connotations of voodoo, the Hardcore guys have yet to be turned into goats.

I was a little past the 330 feet mark at the heads up race, it was the last round of bikes and it started to sprinkle on us. They did not stop the bikes and then sent cars down the track. I talked to someone on the other side of the track (Varsity Side) and they said it was sprinkling there too. So I doubt that the rain missed the track. That is when the drag radial crash happened.
