The de-man-ification of speakers

How funny would it be to show up to a dB drag competition with a pair of 6" speakers and blow everyone away.

I honestly do not know the model of it its the roomies, Pretty sure its a kenwood he got it from a guy we know who collects old radios. Guys entire basement is shelves of old radios. I'll pull a model number and stuff off it tonight when i get home and let ya know.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy OH BOY!

I might be going to pick these up Sunday. Theres a pair on eBay right now for $2600, but Im paying nowhere near that :). I dunno if I should sell them and pocket the cash, or keep em. These are extremely rare. They use a polystyrene cone, and are super efficient. My guess is theyll blow your ears off with less than 1W of input power. These are the cream of the crop coaxial drivers, weighing in at a hefty 40lb each :D. These were made by Goodmans of England for Allied Radio Corp of Chicago, a very high end manufacturer in the day, and even today.

What led us down the dismal road from A to B? What did our fathers know that we do not? Every household I visit now is infested with tiny, cheap plastic boxes, flimsy boom boxes and home-theaters-in-a-box, and wives gasp with laughter and roll their eyes when I suggest that their husbands/boyfriends, my friends, man up and get some real loudspeakers. "Over my dead body," is the clear pledge, sometimes spoken aloud with no shame. My friends roll their eyes sheepishly, and surreptitiously, say nothing. Such a shame.

Don't worry about people they will give you nothing. Just do what you like. Those speakers are not bad at all.

They actually make a good point.. They bring actually spending money on audio equipment to the main stream, And " instead of dissing their purchase, simply congratulate them on their purchase and ask them if they would like to hear your sennheiser cans" lol.
