It wasn't an ak74 then. The AK74 was created in reply to the USA's m16 .223 round. It was the same diamter, but it was the standard russian 39mm length instead of the NATO's 45mm.

And that gun on the back looks like a mas1936,

yah I do, but its a closet queen for right now...

I can get ammo (new Prvi, or surp GP11) for about 50cents a shell.

most places around here are a 1$ a shell which is retarded

i shot a smaller version of an ak7? i think it was called, shorter and the stock folded, it was not to accurate im no pro shot but i have shot enough to get a good feel for accuracy. same day i was shooting a custom built isralie arms g3a3 was shooting 30-06 rounds... that gun was spot on and pretty nasty.

If it comes with a wooden drag stock it is possibly an older WUM2 or pre SAR2 Intrac gun. If he has a pistol grip on it I guess say it is not 922r legal (hint: teh speeling) unless it is a recent purchase. Could be anything from a new WASR2 from Dunhams to an old Intrac MKII http://home.comcast.net/~shooter2_indy/intrac.html

Could also be a single stack.

I'm moving the G26 so I can pick up a new XD. Ya, I like XD's. So what? Wanna fight about it? I've got a thing for XD's and I'm /Lon/ boored /Lon/ with the G26.

I also said I'd trade it for a nice AK and some cash and then put that cash towards a new carry piece. I like that new gun smell. Lucky for me they hold their value.

Well at least go for something other than that Tapco disaster from Oregon you linked.

There was just an SAR2 spf for $450 on arfcom. 5.45x39 is a good round and the only one not doubling in price. All the surplus is slightly corrosive but not really concerning.

Would you swap the 26 for a 27?

WASR2 is the same thing Dunhams sells now for $300. Pass or beat em up for mags and ammo.

Much better results once you get out of the basement AK's by a few hundee.

Pile that $450 into $600ish and get a good one. Having funds ready is the secret to getting good deal, that and knowing where they pop up and being there.

GSAD is Golden State Arms Distributors, Manhattan Beach California. About as pre-ban as they come, early 80's import. This is the gun from the video I have posted before. Managed to get it and a pristine 75rd Chinese drum away from its owner for a song recently.

The other gun pictured is my other early import, CLAYCO.

GSAD and SAR2 gettin a warmup at the pit Saturday. Took my cousin out for his birthday. His wife (quasi-vegan, liberal, California Democrat) had never shot a firearm before. Not one round ever.
