The affects of ObamaCare on you

I removed my teeth on purpose....if you catch my d
My current insurance is good. I work for the largest health system in the state of Georgia. I currently pay for Medical, Dental, Vision, and Short Term Disability 463/month. That's for a family of up to 7 people. I have no deductible as long as I'm in network and my prescriptions are amazingly cheap if I use a pharmacy in our hospital system. For instance Steph's migraine medicine at a CVS is $150/refill. At our hospital pharmacy, it's $39. If I'm in network, I have a flat copay fee ($35/$45)

Under the new rules based on Obamacare (which we were promised lower Premiums) my insurance is dramatically changing. The same level of coverage will now cost me $428/month. A savings of $35/month or $420/year. My deductible is now $2500/year. On top of that I have to pay 20% once insurance starts to kick in. While I don't the specifics yet, we've been told that our prescription benefits are now being dramatically scaled back. What that means I don't know, but scaled back does not imply "Ryan saves money". What does all this mean? My true cost of insurance is now going to be $628/month plus %20 cost of a visit.

I went online to see if self provided healthcare would fare better. It's not. BCBS is the closest I could find. Cost would be $868/month with a $12,600 deductible. That's INSANE!. I tried to see what buying on the exchange would cost me, but the site is down. I'm not holding my breath that it'll be a shocking low number. I'd like to thank all the morons who pushed for this and voted for these morons in office.

Supposedly mine is going up too. Copays went up $10 across the board. I have a PPO plan, not a deductible based plan.

Won't your insurance only change IF your employer decides to chance it?
Like as far as i know my work isn't changing anything with our bcbs.

No it can change at any given rate...

I have had co pays go up with my "cadillac health care plans" before... In the middle of the year without giving me any notice... Granted it was only 5 or 10 bucks.. still.

Bingo... Here's the huge problem... NOBODY ON THIS GOD GIVEN PLANET... Can say right now what's this going to cost... NOBODY...

My benefits haven't changed at all yet. I pay $70/bi weekly for Blue care network. $1500 deductible, $35 office/prescription co-pay.

From the estimators I look at, its just going to cost... MORE.. lol fuck!

See here's my legit bitch... I pay $255 a month for NOTHING... I pay everything... Doctor visits... Scripts... I pay it all... The ONLY time insurance kits in, is when I get jacked up and my medical bills exceed $2500... Other then that... I don't use it for nothing else... Eye doctor I pay for... Dental I pay for... I pay for it all... And now this shit? You're dropping me cause I don't pay enough? Go fuck yourself...

You'll be getting a letter in the mail soon... Just got mine today...

I hope not. I went to the eye doctor a few weeks ago. Got a nice pair of glasses and an exam. The total was $440 or something, I paid $21. It sounds like the plan you had before was garbage to begin with. What gives? I wouldn't even participate in that plan if you are paying for nothing.

You must of never been in a serious accident and had to pay out of pocket before... That $255 a month is NOTHING compared to the 15k Titanium rod in my leg...

Rear ended by semi on my bike. fractured spine, rotator cuff, stage 3 concussion and a slight meniscus tear. The medical bills were piled high but the insurance covered it all. I don't understand what you are trying to say. If you are paying $255, and then you said that it doesn't cover anything, then I am asking what is the point of paying it.

What he's saying is that his medical insurance is basically catastrophic-only coverage since his deductible is $2.5k & max out of pocket is probably like $5k or so. So, essentially, the first $2500 per year of medical expenses are 100% covered by him, since he rarely needs more medical services than that, therefore insurance doesn't cover shit, and the only reason he keeps it is because he/his family would be bankrupted if he was in a major accident w/o it.

It's essentially the same situation as any of us with a 'low premium', high deductible plan.

Health Insurance Alternatives….

I have some very good news for some of you guys…….there is
indeed an alternative to Obama care / health insurance. It is also
one of the few “excepted” groups from the new health care law.

"An eligible option under the national healthcare law".

Like many of my friends & fellow Church members already have,
I’m looking at joining one of these :

Yes these are much cheaper than the traditional health insurance policies.

How did you guys not think that your prices would increase? Its simple economics...if you dont charge someone for something with a value, then it is going to be paid for elsewhere...

Do yourselves a favor and vote in someone who will repeal it next election term.

Why the fuck do I need "more" insurance when the insurance I have now I barely use?!?!?!?! Explain that bullshit to me...
