A guy came by the house the other day with a great offer from comcast, 3 boxes, (one is HD) HBO all the works, had comcast badge and such. anyways he says he needs a copy of my bill from att to transfer me over. I have paper work from comcast saying we are switching over, so my question is, why does he need a copy of my att bill?

They might need it to prove you're an ATT customer if they give a special deal for making a customer switch.

I have heard nothing good about comcast, wait till you get your first bill then you will know if you got a good deal

I have uverse and have had no problems, if you want to keep them call the retention center 581 803 5668, tell them what your gonna get from comcast and they will lower you price

I only switched my internet from Comcast to AT&T...kept their TV service. I had lots of trouble with my internet service dropping out, and had no speed concistency. Uverse internet is pretty nice, I get 24 down and 3 up for $55 a month, no dropouts, nice consistent speed, no lag, etc. They give me a good discount too for combining the bill with my cell service. Beware with Comcast, once their introductory period is up, the bill skyrockets. FWIW, Comcast did let me whittle my bill down a little bit, but not enough for me to stay with them.

i hate uverse, since the tv runs from the internet modem its always laggy, skipping, etc. I have wow now because they offered a free install, but i'll be going to comcast once the wow promotions are up. Comcast > everything else IMO

Hmmm.... I was told if that happens to call AT&T and they would bring out a new "gateway". The installer told me they had some that were giving them issues. Mines been fine.

<-----still happy I made the Comcast jump to Uverse.
The deal will almost have to be free for me to go back to Comcast.

Since Comcast won't lower my rate to what others are getting, I am going to switch to Uverse. This is as soon as it is available where I live in Troy.

The Comcast service is OK. I have been getting a lot of TV drop-outs within the past few months, plus the overall picture quality seems to have come down a bit.

Just my .02....Gary

My 1 year Comcast promotion just ended and my rate jumped from 102 to 147. Anyone got a foolproof technique for getting it back down. Im going to give them the option to lower it or else ill probably be going with WOW or Uverse soon also

comcast sucks, once I got my first bill, I was on the phone with them for over a week everyday, each day I got a different price, basically same channels I had with U-Verse, is costing me $40 MORE a month......I cant wait till U-verse comes to Walled Lake.

now see, i just priced out Uverse for my identical plan and comcast is giving it to me for 119 now. Uverse U200 plus internet is 137.

I originally had WOW, thought they were really good price-wise and everything but the internet service was not at the level I needed.

Now I have Comcast internet, which is the best in my area, no uverse here. Soon Comcast will be upgrading to DOCSIS 3.0, I already have a 3.0 modem, so that will really bump up speeds when they roll that out. I always advise to buy your own modem, then you will get a better modem (like the SB6120) than what they normally would offer, and no monthly rental charge (the savings will pay off the modem and then save you additional money over time).

I Have Dish Network for TV service, really impressed with Dish Network, great quality and low price. The one included box/DVR connects two TVs with full service, and an additional box connects two more. Much cheaper not needing a separate box for each TV.

Finally, for phone service, I have Ooma. Very impressed with that as well, unlimited long-distance and no monthly phone bill. I used to have Vonage which costs $25 per month. The call quality with Ooma is just as good as Vonage and I haven't had any service issues.

Agree..I had Uverse a week and wanted to switch back to Comcast.
Not a fan of Uverse at all.

its funny comcast is installing their service at my building right now :lmao: They really bend over backwards with the business service. They paid about 4k just to get wire and everything ran into my huge building and absorbed all the costs.

It's exactly what I've got U200 + mid internet the bill is $105 each month.
I get the free hbo for 3 months and more once in a while. They did have some issues two years ago, when they just started in my area, but since then it's been awesome.

Well... comcast just showed up a little while ago. i let them go through the hole sales pitch. same package as uverse, hbo, 3 boxes etc. a little bit faster internet and phone. she asks what im paying, i tell her im paying 120.00 a month. she says they can beat that no problem if i come back to comcast and it will be 89.99 a month. i said that sounded good but how much does it go up after the introduction period and she said 20.00 after the first year. the way she said it sounded fishy so i asked is it locked in after that? thats when it got good.... " no sir. it goes up to 140.00 after the second year and then around 200.00 after the third year." me = LMFAO!!!!! after laughing my ass off i proceeded to tell her that my price is locked in for life with uverse as long as i dont cancel. after that she had nothing to say!!!

All i know is i will never switch back to comcast. nothing like having your tv freeze for hours on end. I have had two wonderfull years with uverse so far.
