In the market for a new battery, as usual, need it today. Thought about a deka battery, but that’s likely not an option at this time. Interstate gave me some problems both with customer service and reliability recently that makes me not want to use them, so I am hesitant to put one in a vehicle my father drives.
However, I’d still give them a second chance if the price and availability is there. Odd yet true, I have not had any issues with Duralast.

Thanks in advance.

Where you located? Both my stores have 75 series deka's in stock...

edit: which series? 86 and 75 are totally different battery numbers unless I'm reading wrong...

While we're taking batteries, my riding lawn mower battery always seems to get corrosion built up around the positive battery cable. What can I do to prevent that? It happens on my Mustang top post battery as well but not to the same extent.

Dissimilar metals or the circuitry has poor grounding can cause that.

Use a lead clamp and copper spray.

I've had good luck with Complete Battery Source in Southfield (248-357-3462). I've bought a few batteries from them and all have lasted 5 years (which is the "norm"). If it is an occasional use vehicle that is on a trickle charger during the winter, I've gotten 7-8 years of use from them. They have most sizes in stock.
