Step 1... House passed the..... You don't need a permit to carry concealed.... Bill

Gonna scare all the kids. Not long ago a guy was walking around with a M1 Garand slung across his shoulder and it put people in a hissy fit.

There was a mom at my kid's elementary school open carrying a pistol on her hip at an after school social event in the cafeteria a few weeks ago. Nobody made any comments about it (at least at the event) and it was completely legal, assuming that she has a CPL.

While I understand the constitutional aspect of it... I also think there are plenty of idiots out there who will end up carrying and act completely irresponsible

It is a difficult question and I see both sides of the debate. I don't like the idea of the government regulating something that is a right guaranteed to me in the constitution... but I also don't want people carrying who don't understand the responsibility that comes with it and handles it appropriately

This is exactly my view of the topic.

Being a longtime gun owner and CPL holder, and someone who is in the business of selling guns, this law scares me. As stated above anyone with a clean record can come in, buy a gun and carry it with absolutely no training. You should see some of the mental giants that come in and buy guns. At least now with the current law they need to have a little training before they can carry.

If they want to do something and make it easier for people to conceal carry, make the classes and permits free.

The problem with free classes: Who is going to teach it for nothing?

Volunteers maybe? People volunteer to pick up trash, build homes for the less fortunate, etc. I wouldn't doubt some individuals out there would volunteer their time to train people the proper usage of firearms.

You never know unless you ask. NRA might step up and do it, the unions might offer it as a bonus, Sam's Club or Costco as part of your membership, your homeowners insurance???

You pass this law and maybe they will teach firearm safety in schools......?? I mean we were taught that weed was bad for years and now its just medicine prescribed just by saying your neck hurts...WTF did they waste my time for??

Free training by the existing public services (police/fire departments) for those residing in the same district might be an option?

Costco doesn't allow concealed carry, even now with a CPL..so they're out...

Again, you never know unless you propose free training and see who bites. Costco sells alcohol but are you allowed to drink while walking around, they sell tires but you can't drive through the store. See what I mean?

I've carried in Costco. Do they have signs?

Yep

Yes it is still illegal. Private property with a posted sign.

Illegal only in the terms of trespassing. Private property can set their own rules can only tell you to leave if they catch/ care if your carrying. If they tell you to leave and you don't, they can call the cops and then you could be charged for trespassing.
