St. Ignace 2009 role call...WHO'S IN?!?!?

in between 259 and 264 about 3 miles from the Swamp bar

JEFF
Very cool. If you wanna meet up with the group that weekend, PM one of us your cell number.

Due to some recent financial burden, I don't think I'll be taking my Stang up north. Bryan, Randy, Jenni and I are just going to pile into the F150 towing a travel trailer. We did find a local business that was happy to allow us to take some wood pallets off their hands for free, so we should be all set on firewood.

My family and work are driving me up the wall....so I can't wait to get away. I'm drinking myself into oblivion. :buds:
Better for you. You never have to worry about sobering up before you drive. :D

Reserved site 115 as of today.
Nice!

:) Anyone want to get breakfast with us when we arrive in Mackinac City on Friday??
I can't personally make Ignace plans that far in advance...especially not morning plans.

Single digit countdown, folks! Less than 9 days away!!!!

:seizure:  :naughty1:  :woot: :demon:  :coolugh: :drag: :peelout: :burnout:  :chug: :alcoholic :shots:  :beerchug: :flashboob :baddancin :nayner:

On a less positive note, I have a TON of shit I need to do before next Wednesday night. For example:

Get an alignment
Change my oil
Trans flush
Full detail on the car
Pack
Shop for food, snack, drinks
find a neat and clean place to mount the AC/DC power inverter and PS2 for the drive there and back
Make a couple new CDs
Go through my DVD collection and decide on which ones to bring for the drive
Make a couple trips to Rob's to drop off stuff I am bringing to Ignace...as it will not all fit in my car with the subs and Baker's stuff.
Help Rob pack his truck Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning.
Make sure the house and yard work are up to par to where they can go 4+ days without any attention
Open my pool
Spend an entire day *one of the 3 "pre-Ignace" days off* with my oldest daughter and take her to the Zoo, movies, etc. Just her and I. So really I have 2 days to do everything in preparation for Ignace.

Here is the link for some possible cruise ideas. The red trip or half of the blue trip are likely candidates.

There are so many factors that will dictate where/how long we cruise for. The three biggies are how long it will take us to get our asses moving in the morning, weather and car reliability. Start thinking about it though, so we can come up with something that everyone likes.

Whatever day we do the drive (most likely Friday?) I plan on ending my day in the Soo for some food or a locks boat tour, and then hightailing it back down 75 surely exceeding the posted limit (this is an awesome drive btw) back to iggy.

So some Ideas i'm throwing out are, partial blue route, then north to lower Tq falls, then over to the soo and back to iggy. Or, red route (probably minus drummond island) then north to the soo and back.

There are a few threads floating around so if there is a better one this info should be in go ahead and copy paste.

I'm all for all of the info you just posted in this thread. Specifically the idiotic driving behavior for the drive back to camp. ;)

I did some homework so if people interested in the cruise could take some time and look at some of the possible route ideas that would be great. Discuss.

Mileage top to bottom

(1) 85
(2) 110
(3) 123

I personally think that anything more than route #3 (123 miles) would be a bit much.

Anyone else?

However...what are we looking at in mileage to hit Tahq and the Soo in 1 drive? I's be up for that drive.

Ignace to Tq is 150 miles round trip, thats what we did 2 years ago. Add in stopping at the soo and its 195. I did that one last year and it wasn't bad.

It may seem like alot but its only about 3 hours of driving broken up during your whole day.

I just mapquested it. 204 miles total. Camp to Tahq (mi-123 N), Tahq to Soo (mi-123 S to mi-28 E to 75 N), Soo to camp (75 S). I'd like that drive.

I'm all for trip #5. I've never been to the falls and was really hoping to make it up there this trip, plus I have fam in Newberry...so I might split off for a few hours to visit.

Majority rules though, so if you have an opinion...speak up!

Considering the soo locks dinner cruise. $43/person for the cruise thru the locks and St. Marys river + dinner. Just FYI incase anyone else is interested. That might have to be reserved ahead of time. I'm still undecided because weather will be a factor in all of our weekend plans.

I'm all for dinner at the Soo but i cant see tying up a couple hours on a cruise of the locks. But that's just me.

Its something I've always wanted to do but never done. It won't kill me if I don't but I'd like to. At that point in the drive people can split off and head back to iggy if they want to, its a straight 50 mile shot down 75 that takes about 45 minutes, or even 30 minutes if you're feeling frisky.

I'd like to have an alternate shorter drive planned just incase weather kills half of the day.
