St. Ignace 2009 role call...WHO'S IN?!?!?

I'll probably be there. Not sure if Ima camp out or just head another couple hundred miles and stay at my mom's in Skandia.

We were still eating there whether you came or not.

I'm looking forward to my BLT with 1lb of bacon.
Didn't you accept my challenge of eating the ice cream sundae at tony's last year? I was looking forward to throwing one of those bad boys down this year lol

so what exactly is st. ignace?

The St. Ignace Car Show is a big show in the lower U.P just off the Mackinac Bridge in a little town. It’s a 3 day show that starts on Thursday night at the casino. They have a large cruise night followed by a cruise through the town. Friday night they have a large classic car parade the goes through the town with floats and cars clowns and marching bands and Saturday is the big car show that goes from the only stop light in town on top of the hill all the way towards the NAPA store(over 2 miles). I have been going to this show since I could remember. The show has gone down in size big time ever since the city and show organizers put a zero tolerance policy out during car show weekend.(No Alcohol) It was once the biggest show in the state until the Woodward Dream Cruise was started. The show was a huge party with cars and car clubs from all over the country coming to take part in the weekend’s events. I still think it is the best show in the state with the best scenery possible for a car show. If you have never gone I highly recommend you take the long but beautiful car ride up there.

All show info and registration to the events can be found here

Well, that depends. I usually take 127 up, but I could meet up with your group. Just depends on where. The closest part of 75 for me to get to is in Bay City, or I could try to time it to where I could meet up with you all after 127 and 75 meet up. Thoughts?

Oh...and I forgot to mention in my first post that I'm @ KOA with the rest...site 114.
Let me look at the map of MI (specifically where Bay City is) and I could let you know. I think I still have your cell # from last year so when we get close to the area you'd want to meet at, I could call and let you know. If you want to caravan we could always figure out a spot on 75 where we could meet up with you and anyone else who wanted to caravan up.

BLT? YES! Huge ice cream sundae? NO WAY! My stomach can't take that much dairy. I'll get those really gut-wrenching pains that make you think you're insides are going to be ripped apart if you don't shit in the next 6 seconds. No way I'm attempting that right before a 200+ mile drive to the bridge from Birch Run!

Bay City is exit 162 on I-75

In that case, Topless67 can either travel roughly 30 miles south and meet us at Tony's @ 10:30am, or catch us on 75 on our way up to the bridge.

Topless, we could call you as we're finishing up eating. That would give you roughly 30 minutes to get ready to meet us off of 75 somewhere.

I'm definitely NOT back tracking 30 mins to Birch Run. Its not even 30 mins from my house to exit 162....so that might work. I wouldn't want you all to have to pull off again though. I'm not going to commit to that yet, b/c I HATE 75. 127 has less trafiic...and in my ole' girl, I'm more comfortable with less ass hats to avoid.

Mile marker 175 has a rest area. I only know because I looked up rest stops on 75 in MI because I was bored at work today. I don't know the rest stop mile markers for the same reasons people like CMYZ28 and 91trunk know them. :hay:

Anyway, we could meet you at the rest stop at mm 175 which is only a few miles from you and right on our way. Up to you.

Also, should anyone else want to join the caravan that morning and want to meet at a rest area on the way, here is the list of I-75 Michigan rest areas and the mile markers they are located at. http://www.i75exitguide.com/restareas/michigan.php

We're in the 30's in the countdown!!! :seizure:

39 days from right now most of us will have our campsites completely set up and we will probably be well on our way to evening #1 of drunken Tom Foolery. :beerchug: :rockwoot:

Anyway, I added "Goo Gone" to the "list of things I need to pack" for this year. Goo Gone will get all those bugs from that long drive wiped right off of your car. I suggest you also pack some if you're driving your car up.

What am I missing?

It's not a bad idea to start thinking about who's bringing the "community" stuff.

I.e:

Firewood (we can provide it neatly stacked and wrapped on a pallet, we just need a truck to bring it up)
Grill (Rob and I have that covered)
Propane
Plastic ware (I think Kevin *Quick86* has that covered)
Plates
Napkins
Condiments
etc...

There's no sense in everyone bringing their own plates, plastic ware, napkins, etc. There would be garbage everywhere if we're all bringing our crap and huddling around 1 grill.

I-pod.
I would say swimsuits...but we all know its not usually warm enough for that. LOL

I guess an Ipod would be good, but if you're with the group all the time when would you listen to it?

Swim suits...pfff. Who needs 'em? I swim in only what God gave me.
