SPARTY ON!!!

The thing is I've watched enough MSU teams to know they always find a way to lose. It's like the lions, only not nearly as extreme. It's always fun to pick on your rivals, and this is the first time in a while when we have a pathetic team. Give us a good qb and this entire thing would be different. We wouldn't be AS bad, not a perfect season, but a lot better. I'm just waiting for a good recruiting class to get in and let Rrod get his team in. When he was at WVU, he was 3-8 his first season. From the looks of it, he throws away the first season just because his system can't mesh into the existing team. Give him a couple years and his system should be in. Then we'll see how he stands up to the competition. If we're still losing big games and consistently losing to teams we shouldn't, then I'll still be asking for a new coach. Now, PSU needs to just destroy everyone else in their schedule and go to the big game.

1) Dantonio came in and converted the offense from the spread to a pro set. And MSU had their first winning record (7-6) since 2003 with JLS's players.

2) Dantonio is in year #2. Still running the pro set (no pun intended). These are still mostly JLS's players. They are now 6-2 and should finish 9-3 (before the bowl game). And like Michigan, many of JLS's recruits, including a couple QB's, left the program.

3) Damn near everyone on UM's team had offers from USC, Ohio St, Nebraska or some other big football school. UM has a lot of talent. But the coach is using is own players (freshmen) and has poorly coached the rest.

4) How many National Championships did RichRod win at WV? This isn't the Big East. He isn't going to be playing Syracuse, Louisville and UConn (did I mention Rutgers?) every year. I keep hearing he'll bring a National Championship to Michigan in 3 or 4 years. Do you really think PSU, OSU, MSU, IL or Iowa will just roll over to the Mighty RichRod? How about Minnesota or Northwestern? Should we tell them not to bother? And somehow, I don't expect Wisconsin to take it in the shorts next year again. That leaves you with an easy game against Indiana and Purdue (a wildcard with Tiller retiring).

Sorry, but I don't see the easy transition that you and the other UM slappies see. Didn't WV choke on their national ranking twice last year to USF and Pitt? And that was with the best spread QB (a senior) in the country. Sorry, but I see UM as another 5-7, maybe 6-6 team next year no matter who he brings in. Or do you think he'll go 9-3 :bowrofl:?

I wonder which part of your asshole is telling you UM fans are saying we'll have a championship team in 3 years, cause if you really think anyone thinks that, you're head is obviously up your ass. UM had no qb, no rb, and the receivers all graduated out. What pro level players is it again that he's skipping over? There is no talent on this team short of the rb's and the D who is still weak. The fact is that no matter what JLS did, MSU has consistently started off with great starts and fucked it up after about 4 or 5 games. We'll see how MSu does the rest of the season, but even with a win over UM MSU still has how many years to go before they will ever be considered as serious a team as UM. UM is also ranked #1 in academics in the nation this year and 17th in the world. Where did MSU fall this year?

I think a lot of people are underestimating this team. It's not a stellar team by any means, but we got a some really good talent and the ability to put down some D. I think most games will be close, but in the end we'll walk away with 3 losses total.

HA! MSU kick Michigan's ass? Right. could they win, sure, but it still doesn't excuse the fact that MSU will still somehow find a way to lose 5 games this season to teams they shouldn't lose to.

Other than a few UM slappy's here, I usually listen to Valenti & Foster over the internet in the afternoon if I'm home doing paperwork. The UM slappy's that call in expect a National Championship in 3 to 5 years. While Michigan will always be able to recruit, I'll take a wait and see approach on how well RichRod's system does here. The benefit is that they just opened the door to all the talent in MI and Ohio for MSU.

You said UM would be 9-3. This means the team should have some talent. You don't go 9-3 without talent. Carr's freshmen, sophmores and juniors are still on the team and for the most part, riding pine. Why? RichRod has his own system, blah, blah, blah.

As for MSU, tell me who they should lose to other than Penn St. Their other games are against Michigan, and Wisconsin & Purdue at home. At the begining of the year, I would have been happy with 8-4. The target is now 9-3. If this was the same old Spartans, they would have lost to FAU, ND, IN and IA. The team doesn't make nearly as many stupid mistakes (or penalties) as was the case with JLS or Bobby Williams. Sorry, but with the recruiting (ranked in the top 20 - would have been higher, but they are only recruiting 17-19 players vs 25 or more for many schools), MSU is moving up. Obviously recruits look at MSU as a serious player.

As for the academics, the list I saw had UM at 25th. And they were not the highest rated school in the Big 10. They were 10 spots behind NW. But this is just a way to direct the conversation away from football and Michigan sucking ass. Usually we only hear the academic crap during basketball season.

As for academics, doesn't it also matter on what you go to school for. To be a doctor or lawyer, you might choose Michigan. For vet tech or business school, you'd probably go to MSU. But the fact also remains the MSU is the 7th largest university in the US.

Of course we all know what happens to the vet techs who flunk out at MSU, right? They go to Michigan to become doctors.

For an education, they are all excellent schools. Of course if you do go to UM, you'll have to stare at the cattle they call cheerleaders during the football games :secret:.
