this may sound like a dumb question but can you use a solid roller cam in a non roller 351W block?

yes and you don't need any conversion, just buy a solid roller cam,lifters,and hardened push rods, now if you have a non-roller block and want to change to hyd. roller then you need the conversion lifters or drill and tap block for spyder tray! Solid roller vs Hyd roller= solid roller FTW

thats awsome to know...im gonna get a nice big solid roller for my combo...how do i adjust the rockers on that? do i have to go with lash or do i adjust them like i would on a hyd. roller motor?

you need lash, the cam card will come with the recommended valve lash, if you never did it before have somebody help you its very important..foxbodydave said:

Dave, what year block are you using for this 351W. I Know the one I Picked up from you is a 74' non roller as well, so a solid roller cam would be the best huh?

the block is a 69, i just got it from my dad...it was pure luck that he sold it to me.....
